The cabin was in a lovely wooded area with just one other cabin nearby, so it felt like we were really out in the woods. We were a 10 or 15 minute drive from the state park hike entrances, which was very convenient. On our last morning, we saw wild turkeys and a couple of deer in the pasture outside the cabin, which was fun. My kids really enjoyed the hot tub, and it was such a great feature to have it inside the screened porch. The cabin was clean and comfortable, decorated simply but nicely, and had just about everything we needed. As other reviewers have noted, the wifi was very spotty, so this wouldn't be a good location to come for a quiet place to work remotely, but that's probably to be expected given the remote location. If you book this property, I'd suggest that you bring a few things with you: a corkscrew (or bring wine with a screw top/in a box), a dish scrubber for the kitchen, and cash, as a tip for the housekeeping staff is requested with an envelope left in the house). Also, it might be helpful for others to know that two of the three queen beds are upstairs, one in a proper bedroom (with a door, closet, dresser), and the other in a loft area (with a half wall that looks down over the living room, no door, no closet, no dresser). This worked great for us, but might be an obstacle for groups traveling with people who have difficulty navigating stairs or who'd like more privacy at night.Overall, great stay, great communication, and great location!
