Hillside Escape is located in the historic district of downtown Logan just minutes away from great restaurants antiques shopping and other great attractions! Less then 15 miles away you have Hocking Hills State Park, Lake Logan, zip lines, ATV adventures, and canoeing.

After exploring the city of downtown Logan, hiking and other amenities you will be able to relax in a 3 bedroom one full bath restored victorian home. We have also included a six person hot tub in the backyard for your enjoyment as well! The kitchen is fully stocked and provides everything you need to cook your favorite meal. Looking for a place to get away and work from "home"? Hillside Escape provides you with the fastest speed internet to help you complete your work efficiently. Upstairs features two bedrooms with kings beds and smart tv's. The third bedroom has a bunkbed with a twin bed on top and a full size bed on the bottom. In the living room cozy up and watch a movie on the large 50in smart tv. Outside a fire pit surrounded by a privacy fence provides you with peace and quiet that you can enjoy while you escape to the backyard to make a s'more or two!

The inside of the house is beautiful. There are a few floor boards that feel like they’re going to give out from under you, but it’s an old house. A mouse ran through the living room on our first night. Sent a message to the host, but didn’t hear back. The hot tub water was green and smelly. Another message was sent. We didn’t hear from the owner until we reached out to VRBO. We were told that he didn’t know about the mice and he would get someone out to look at the hot tub, but no one came. Plenty of dishes and cookware for the basics, family dining table, comfortable beds.

The inside of the house was clean. The house did have a very strong smell of maybe a wet basement. The electronic deadbolt was difficult to use, we had to lock it from the inside and then leave from the front door, it will only would unlock, not lock. The hot tub was green and smelled bad. The fire pit was full of trash and the seating was just rotten logs. We ended up leaving a day early because we were disappointed that we couldn’t use the property to its potential. I would like to request a refund for one day at least. The property was also very overgrown on the outside, the pictures did not match reality.

bed sheets in one room were less than ideal, appeared dirty, bottom sheet was fuzzy with lint stuck to it and had stains property contact was slow to respond in beginning, then while there no response at all from multiple messages sent.

There were mouse droppings in amongst the silverware in the drawer. Host did not respond for over 12hrs, only after I had to contact VRBO directly

When we arrived at the house for our stay, we noticed that the back yard was completely overgrown and unkept, making the fire pit and hot tub unusable. We were sad to see this, since this was a large selling point in us booking the home for the weekend. There was also dirty silverware left in the drawer with the clean silverware. Another concern was the volume of hair left in every bed when we arrived, indicating that the sheets had not been washed in between visits to the rental. We attempted to change the sheets to ensure we were sleeping in clean beds, but there were no extra clean sheets to be found anywhere in the house. We also noticed that the blankets in the living room were stained and dirty, as well. After noticing these problems, we reached out to the property owner and did not get a response for multiple days. After replying back to them immediately, we still have not heard back weeks later. We were disappointed in this rental since it had the potential to be a wonderful stay, but the cleanliness issues and lack of response when communicating this to the owner was unfortunate.

There was a problem with the hot water heater. Initially the property manger responded and informed us how to access the basement to reset the breaker. There was water on the basement floor (which explained the musty smell in the kitchen). The water heater was rusty and corroded. We reset the breaker twice daily for several days until the water heater completely died and was leaking. There was no response from the manager at that point. We left a day early because of the problem and still haven't heard back. VRBO says they can't do anything because we left. We are very disappointed in how this was handled.

To start, photos of exterior are nothing like the posted photos. So do not select this place on appearance. You will be disappointed. If it met all other expectations provided in the post. I would have ignored the location setting more and the outside appearance to a degree. Street is noises as well. The hot tub was a particular aspect we voted on enjoying and it failed. Green water with a mildew smell killed the vibe and therefore we could not even use. House was mostly clean, minus the spider webs, marks on walls, and the fact that you really can’t clean if you have no hot water in my book. Oh yeah no hot water, showers were a mental choice to consider after hiking and swimming in the lake. Communication went to the VRBO before we made contact with the property manager. Contacting the host owner is mute point. I mean my thought is I could have dealt with most concerns… but the no hot water all weekend was a no go and was a huge concern. Who would rent a place with no hot water? Very disappointed.

The rooms are nice and kitchen has lots of supplies! Good distance to the trails as well as being walkable to ice cream and other shops. Yard could be kept up more but the hot tub was great.

Very disappointing. The pictures that were taken likely are 10 years old. There was something smeared on the wall in one of the bedrooms. The lawn hadnt been mowed in probably 2 weeks. The landscaping hadn't been done this year at all as the poisonous pokeweed plants were about 2 feet tall growing in the rocks. No decent skillet to cook on. Didn't matter much though because i got a call the day after we arrived that my dad had died and we had to leave. This rating is honest and i am not embesllishing at all. I have pics. If you're going to run a Vrbo be honest about what your facilities look like. This was my worst Vrbo rental I have ever booked.

Overall our stay was not to bad as we we where not really at the house much except to eat dinner and sleep. Few cons about the house! Very noisy street, Hot in the up stairs of the house, bed where not comfortable, hot tub was not the cleanest, grass needed to be mowed. But as we where there to hike and not really spend a lot of time at the home and lay around these things didn't really bother us. Everyone still enjoyed the hot tub and had a great time. We are not perfect people and nor where we looking for perfect just some places kids can be kids and not in confined area on our trip.
