Staff very helpful, I had a room on the 11th floor, great view, very neat! The rooftop is great, couldn’t enjoy it though because of the curfews and the dates I was staying, but if I come back to L.A., definitely going to be an option for me!

The property was beautifully renovated and well-maintained. We had an issue where the room we originally were offered was under renovation upon our arrival. They apologized for the mistake and sorted us out with two replacement suites and a gift card as well. Would stay again!

Friday the 13th

Wife and I have been celebrating anniversaries at this property for years now. The new ownership has kept the charm and splendor of the old Ace. Will certainly be returning for many Friday the thirteenths to come.

In general a cool boutique hotel in a central location. Waking up to the DTLA skyline is always a super cool experience. However, the carpets are filthy, the rooftop bar wasn't open during the posted hours and the door code system was an absolute nightmare. My codes (elevator and room) changed daily, and one night after returning around 3AM my code didn't work at all. Front desk person treated me like I was an idiot until after 15 minutes discovered an IT issue with my specific room. Never once was I able to enter my room or use the elevator without complications. TLDR: Clean the carpets, adhere to bar opening hours and get rid of the horrible door code system and this hotel will rule.

Architecture and design was what influenced the stay. Terrible mattress if you can call it that reminded me of college with futon pads. Sink was outside of bathroom and super close to the bed. You could hear noise from the rooftop bar. Parking was not included in stay. Minimal breakfast option and you had to pay for everything. You are better off at Hilton/JW/even a holiday inn.

As a heads up- there is no parking available through Hotels.com. Parking was in a lot next to the building and was $45/night. The room (standard queen) was in a studio layout with the shower directly behind the bed. The mattress/ cushion/ sleeping pad was super thin and rock hard- I have slept on more comfortable futons. The door codes were an interesting touch, but seemed a bit much for the front door, elevators, and room. The app for the room door only worked about half the time for me. My biggest issue was that the cooling did not seem to really work. When I entered the room, it was set at 70 degrees and the air was super stagnant. I turned the thermostat down to 62, and left for 5+ hours, when I returned, the temperature was 69 degrees.

Love this place because it's dog friendly and convenient to all my favorite spots in downtown. I stay here whenever I'm in town with my pups. Rooms are a goos size and check in is a breeze. You just go straighr to your eoom using the check in details they text you.
