I stop over and visit a friend in Fairfax county on my way from Austin to CT (I don't like connections). Watermark is an amazing hotel at a reasonable price. Their lobby is on the 11th floor and opens to a rooftop outdoor brew pub restaurant, with a stage, live music (weather permitting), a full miniature golf course, and other outdoor games for the whole family. There is an upscale bar and restaurant on 11, and a supermarket (Wegmans) on the first floor. Breakfast is free on the 9th floor. it's a short walk to the McLean metro stop, 30 or so minute ride to Dulles, 45 min to the Mall in DC. CapitalOne owns most of the real estate around the hotel, and they've built a one playground and are in the process of building another one. they're amazing. Pro tip: one stop from Dulles on the metro (and a short bus ride) is the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy air and space museum. The most amazing air museum on the planet.

Modern and clean. Great location near the metro. The breakfast had a full choice of hot and cold fare. Coffee,teas, juice and even almond milk. Staff was extremely attentive. If you make reservations in advance download the app. The parking is self-serve and very convenient once you understand how you need to remember the floor you parked on! Elevators are all electronically accessed using your room card key to get to your floor. It takes a bit of practice and all new guests had the same initial confused look. Other than that the room was thoughtfully laid out. Only issue was the towels felt rough.

I stayed at the WM because of a wedding, the room was great, very clean and spacious. The breakfast was good. I did not like that the lobby was on the 11th floor and was not much of a lobby. I did not like the elevators which I’m sure were very modern, it was very confusing. I was surprised there was no pool.
