The room was clean, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable given the price of the room. Cleaning staff was friendly and came by after one day, which wasn’t needed but shows they are cleaning regularly. Amenities are very basic but the microwave and coffee maker worked just fine.

Overall, not a bad room. It was pretty comfortable, and had everything needed for a quick stay.

There is no sound proofing, prepare to hear everything around you. No workers stay over night so you are unable to call the office if there are other people being extremely loud past the 10pm mark. Ok if you don’t have kids and just want a place to sleep.

Updated dated hotel

Clean decent for a one night stay. Tenant above us was noisy. Parking was tight. Carpet was dingy, gap under the door. Otherwise, this is a economy hotel for the price.

After reading the reviews posted, I was surprised to see that the location of the motel was the first one closest to an older area of Monterey in a 1/2 mile line of quaint family run motels. The location was across the street from an older residential and commercial section of Monterey, with a liquor store across the street. The motel itself was older and needed some paint and re-stained cement walkways. The carpet on the exterior stairs and walkways was also stained in many areas. Our room had a post-cleaning smell similar to a cheap cologne, causing us to open some windows to get fresh air. In fairness this was an older motel that looked better in the photos. I would rate this property with 5 out of 10 stars.
