Looking for a decent no-frills hotel? This is the spot! Came down here last month for a day-cation and it was the perfect place to crash for the night. Man at the front desk was very friendly and the room was pretty clean. I’ll definitely stay again, considering that Mount Airy Casino is very close!

I booked the motel room to avoid a long drive home for my girlfriend and I, to get a good night's sleep after a special event trip and a long week. Checked in fine before the event, and came back to our room after the event and was surprised to see that the blinds to a 1st Floor room had see-through blinds... I know they were see-through, because we saw a couple inside their room through the blinds, as we parked & walked past their room. Very uncomfortable, especially with 24/7 lights outside making it easier to see through inside. Speaking of uncomfortable, our bed was nothing short and put us in worse shape than when we got there. My girlfriend, after hours of struggling to sleep on the mattress, discovered that the rug on the floor was a comfier solution... and stayed there until she sat up against the bed to continue sleeping. I myself, woke up several times to adjust my sleeping position, and couldn't wait to be back home in a real bed. Nothing against the staff, but the room itself was miserable. Felt like a waste of money, for something meant to be comforting.

Hotel stay

Staff were friendly. Pool wasn’t heated so it was really cold for an indoor pool. The room was clean with a fluffy bed. It had lots of pillows. Interesting art directly above the bed.Hotel looks a bit run down but it’s functional.

Gym equipment doesn’t work, so if you’re looking to workout stay somewhere else. There’s one pool that looked ok but the smell of chlorine was enough to choke you. Breakfast is advertised but when you get there they’ll tell you that they don’t serve breakfast (disappointing). Rooms are relatively clean, and the staff seem nice. Overall 2/10 but conveniently located central to many different good places to eat and a Walmart that’s about 10 min away.

I went and had a fun time in the mountains but the place smelled like an Indian kitchen. It stunk like curry and the furniture was run down and miss matched. Nothing belonged together for example there would be a very old mirror with a gold frame and polka dots, then the back drop for the tv was glossy red😂😂the ac in the room was also from the 90s and woke me up every time it turned on at night. I contacted Expedia and they said that the hotel property won’t do anything about it and won’t give me any sort of reimbursement. I didn’t even ask for the money back I mean 20% of on your next stay would be been better then being turned down and now having me write this review. But what I do have to say is that Expedia then tried to make it better and gave me some credits. Overall it just wasn’t worth the price
