This is a beautiful home that is exactly as pictured. It is nicely decorated, seems to be newly renovated and is very clean. The pictures are exactly as the home is. The kitchen has everything you need. The big picture windows and top deck give you beautiful views of sparkling Pelots Bay and the beautiful birds that circle it. It is in a quiet part of North Hero and on a quiet part of the bay so you could easily go out in kayaks with little worries about big boats. Fishing was okay and my husband did get a few bites. Be aware that the Game warden does come around to check your Vermont fishing license ( which my husband had. ) It really is a lovely peaceful home. One caveat- if you are elderly, have balance issues or mobility issues this home might be a little difficult for you. The main floor with the kitchen and living room is noticeably slanted which can throw off your balance and the staircase to the downstairs ( which has a gate at the top) is very steep and has a sharp uneven turn at the end. The outside staircase is very uneven with a rail on one side on all but the very bottom 4-5 steps down to the water’s edge. The kayaks are on a landing and must be brought down those last steps. Also the stairs are very weathered so holding onto the rail can give you splinters - don’t slid your hand! I don’t think any of these things are an issue unless as I said you are elderly, or have balance/ mobility issues. All in all the house was lovely.

We absolutely loved being on the water and having the kayak use but were very disappointed with the house overall. There were tons of spider webs (didnt even use the laundry room after seeing all the webs). We had to clean out the kayaks. A lot of weeds (my husband had to pull them so we could walk down to the dock). Something was off with the drain or septic downstairs bc the shower smelled like rotten eggs. The bed sheets were cleaned but had such a strong detrogant odor (and were slightly damp), that I got a headache. The pull out part of pull out couch was so uncomfortable for my son that he had to sleep with me. Overall, did not feel the property was as pictured.

Great peaceful getaway

Great location, with east views overlooking peaceful bay. So quiet and secluded & house is very clean! Comfortable for 4 adults, any more would be tight. Vrbo listing is very accurate, everything well stocked & clean. Carrie very responsive (note: Unless you’re an early riser: bring eye masks, sun comes up early. Sunrise worth getting up for a day or 2)Would caution against small children and elderly adults.. stairs to lower level are narrow and those to dock are very steep. Would highly recommend!

A little rest and relaxation while the husband fished.

I loved the privacy of the place! It's very close to the marina and we enjoyed their lobster dinner and live music. Weather was great that day! My husband fished off the pier and got so many fish of all different kinds. Pulled up 3 lb bass and 4 lb pike and I got a bowfin! We drove to Hero's Welcome every morning for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Their lunch sandwiches were the best meal we had the whole trip! Just a lovely little town. So, basically we loved it. We went to relax and we did. Hubby went to fish and he crushed it. So, win, win!

Peaceful View

This cottage was just the right size for the two of us, and the large windows overlooking the bay provided such a serene setting. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. Our visit was very comfortable. The only caution I would give is the staircase to the lower level where the bedrooms are is steep and does not have adequate railing, especially at the bottom, for safety. This would be a challenge for elderly, young children, or anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise, it’s a lovely cottage.

Relaxing getaway

It was a charming cottage overlooking the lake. Very comfortable and well kept. Quiet and private. The house and property were just as the photos showed. The kitchen was well set up for cooking meals when we didn't want to go out. We enjoyed local hiking and kayaking from the house's dock. We would definitely return.

A Hidden Gem

The house was very cute, clean and well stocked with anything you need. It is everything I was hoping for, especially being right on the lake with access to kayaks. The best part was not being near busy tourist areas.

Perfect lakehouse

Beautiful property with gorgeous views. We enjoyed kayaking and the hosts responded immediately when we had questions about where to kayak to etc. Bedrooms are a little tight and one didn't have a dresser for clothes but this was more than made up for by the rest of the house which has been recently renovated and is exactly as the pictures show with the big windows. Lots of fun games as well. Would love to come back every summer if we could! The islands are quite magical-lots of places to swim and we even popped up to Montreal for the day.

Annual Fishing Trip

I book a fishing trip each year for my dad, a friend of mine, and me. This year we stayed at this lovely property in Pelots bay. Interior was as advertised, clean, and had beautiful rooms. As others have mentioned, there are quite a few steep stairs down to the dock/water, so if you’ve got small kids/anyone with limited mobility, just be aware of that going in. For a fishing trip, the location was great. Protected from the wind, close to a boat launch in Carry Bay. When I had questions prior to arriving, they were always answered very quickly which I always appreciate. Overall, great place! Looking forward to returning!

Last minute retreat was perfect

ChatGPT My family enjoyed an entire week of both tranquility and fun. The spacious home was exceptionally clean, the beds were comfortable, and the well-equipped kitchen met all our needs. We found a perfect balance between unwinding by the firepit, evening fishing sessions, and leisurely cruises in the four available kayaks, keeping boredom at bay throughout our stay. Exploring downtown, we discovered an extraordinary store renowned as one of VT's most unique, offering a diverse array of products. The breathtaking views from the house and the scenic drive to the local pristine beach added to the overall experience. Without a doubt, we would eagerly return, as we are immensely grateful for this wonderful and much-needed getaway. Thank you once again for providing us with such a fantastic experience.

Comfortable

It was very comfortable. All the air conditioners and mini splits worked perfectly. The shower was great perfect shelving and water pressure. The house was so clean. The towels, the beach towels and the laundry facilities clean too! The kitchen had great pots and pans and a few storage containers which worked out wonderful. There were a lot of stairs down to the dock, but my friends and I (all age 60) actually enjoyed the exercise. We brought the lightweight Adirondack chairs down to the dock because we didn’t want to sit out back at the fire pit. We wanted to be near the water. There were 4 of us so it worked out just right. The view from the kitchen table was spectacular.

Great remote cottage to stay

Over all we had a nice time and perfect place to be if you like less people. Kids had a lot of fun kayaking and fishing. Everything in the house worked as it should. Lucky we were able to use the grille tank as a back up because the stove in the house ran out the last night and day there. Thank you for helping us enjoy our vacation in Vermont!

Great getaway!

The property manager Claire was wonderful to work with - accommodating and quick to respond! There was a welcome bottle of wine and a nice note waiting upon our arrival. The checkin and checkout process were very easy. The house itself is adorable - nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The views from indoors and the top deck are wonderful and I watched the sunrise from the dock ! We enjoyed our breakfast on the upper deck with stools overlooking the lake. Location is quiet and safe. The house is 2 stories with a staircase that can be challenging to navigate if you have mobility issues, just something to keep in mind. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return again !

May 2023 UVM Graduation Weekend

Our family enjoyed our stay in North Hero, during the 2023 UVM graduation weekend. The house was the perfect size with two large bedrooms and a pull out couch. Enjoying our meals with a view of the bay was beautiful and so relaxing during a very busy weekend full of celebrations. The kitchen was fully stocked making preparing our meals very enjoyable. Carrie was great to work, keeping in constant communication up until our arrival, ensuring our stay was perfect. I highly recommend staying at this location.
