Beautiful, Historic and Private Retreat for Couples-limit 2 people

The Studio is a truly unique and beautiful property, both inside and out. Located in the heart of the village within walking distance to all the harbor front attractions, The Studio is tucked away, shady and private. The multi level patio is nestled among live oaks and cedar trees. After a total renovation in 2022, the interior space features an updated look that is more spacious, more functional and more inviting than ever! The Studio is an adult only, pet free, smoke free space. Smoking is allowed outside.


This building was constructed in 1993 and used for 15 years as a working art studio. It is set back off the road, amidst giant live oak and cedar trees, and sits alongside my home, one of the islands designated historic houses. The two buildings are joined by an open breezeway behind the main gate, but when guests are in residence in the studio, we both have separate entrances on opposite sides of the property. The Studio provides all the comforts of home in a private, quiet and tree shaded setting, with lots of attention to detail. I have tried to make the Studio somewhere I would want to stay, well cared for with lots of personality.

You enter through a totally enclosed multi leveled courtyard space complete with artwork, jasmine, hot/cold out door shower and grill. There are chairs for lounging and a dining table for mealtime. Your parking is right outside the gate. Inside, the studio is colorful, unique and furnished for your complete comfort with one queen bed downstairs, a double bed in the upstairs loft space, sofa, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen and bath with tub and shower. There is a desk and office chair perfect for working while away! The Studio provides full linen service.

This is the perfect romantic and private getaway for two. The Studio is located within walking distance of the Coffee Company, Zillie's, the harbor front and all downtown shops and restaurants.

All Studio guests are strongly urged to buy cancellation insurance through VRBO. We are an island 30 miles off the coast. Things happen, to people and to the island. The ferry service to the island can be affected at any time in unpredictable ways restricting access to the island. And, we have hurricanes from June through October. Please protect yourselves.

We loved this beautiful retreat! What a lovely place to relax in Ocracoke. The location could not be better! We rented bikes and rode everywhere on the island. The porch and outdoor shower were fantastic and inside the home was just beautiful. If you have a love for very cool art and tranquil surroundings this is the place for you! Debbie was so welcoming and kind, super easy check in & check out. The place was spotless, can't wait to return.

We LOVED The Studio! Debbie was a fantastic host and responded quickly to our questions. The studio was beautiful and very well equipped with everything we needed. The Studio is fully equipped for cooking. Furnishings are beautiful and comfortable. Bed is super comfortable. There is a desk if you need to work. We've only stayed in Winter so haven't made use of the outside deck and furnishings but they seem perfect for grilling and relaxing outside. Debbie is a terrific host..

Check in was super easy and the place was ready to go for our visit. It was clean and well appointed, with everything we needed to make food and have an awesome trip. Really convenient to restaurants, shops and things to do. The beds are comfortable and though we didn't use it, they even have a grill and a nice private courtyard to spend time in.

Enchanting studio has everything you need including linens. The artistry in building, designing, decor, and color pallet were magical. Gorgeous statues as well. I’ll include a few pics but they are only from my phone. I would recommend to family & friends as well as return there myself in the future. The host was key in my decision to continue to the island eventhough there was talk of more overwash. She was right & everything was fine.

Very relaxing stay at the studio, even after arriving on the heels of a hurricane. The studio is tastefully decorated, has beautiful artwork and higher end kitchenware. The outdoor space is private with a relaxing atmosphere. Debbie, our host, is sweet, thoughtful and generous. She helped us out a great deal with the ferries and was willing to adjust our dates if we couldn’t make it there as scheduled because the island was still under evacuation from the hurricane the day before we were set to arrive. There is a lot to do within walking distance and the island has a free tram service. We enjoyed the studio so much and we are already planning a return trip. You won’t be disappointed!! Thanks again Debbie.

This was our second stay at The Studio and we enjoyed our stay even more than the first time. The Studio is very comfortable, very clean and we felt so at home here. The kitchen is well equipped for a quick meal or more. The out door space is lovely and the out door shower is a favorite of ours. We just love staying here - so relaxing! Our trip was cut short due to a mandatory evacuation order for Hurricane Erin --- however our host Debbie was extremely helpful in keeping us up to date on the latest developments. We appreciate all her help, she truly looks out for her guests.The Studio and Debbie are real gems on Ocracoke!We will be returning to The Studio in the future.Andrea & Charlie

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at the Studio! While the rain kept us off the beach, the Studio was truly a comfortable place to read and rest. Secluded retreat in the heart of the village

1 week stay at this well appointed studio. Private courtyard, outdoor shower and colorful art make this a “home”. You retreat to the courtyard to hear birdsong as Jasmine fragrances the gentle breezes. We can’t wait to stay here again.
