Great option for those walking the Camino — it’s a little out of the way, but a taxi can easily get you there. The hotel sits in a peaceful location surrounded by nature, making it a relaxing getaway. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The spa receptionist couldn’t have been more rude, making us feel unwelcome from the start. Breakfast was also poor, with a very limited selection and low quality. The setting is lovely, but both the service and food need serious improvement.
My sister and I stayed at Hotel Balneario Río Pambre on our second day of the Camino de Santiago, and it was absolutely perfect. Malva was wonderful — so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived.
We enjoyed an amazing massage, cold plunge, and sauna — exactly what our bodies needed after a long walk. Dinner was spectacular, and the next morning they even prepared breakfast for us to take on the Camino.
Everything was beyond expectations — peaceful, beautiful, and full of care. I’ll definitely come back. Truly the best hotel.

Bedbugs bites have covered my entire body. I have thrown out my entire wardrobe. I’ve gifted my backpack to the church informing them that they have to clean it before giving it to someone.

They were short of staff.
Our room had no AC.
Our room could be cleaner.
Very simple hotel, nothing luxurious.
Limited food choices.
Misleading pictures.

the dining room is the only eating option without a car. The main waitress is excellent and efficient. Her helper was terrible - passive-aggressive, openly refusing requests for a menu. We were about to leave after 20 minutes, when the experienced waitress took over - but it left a bad taste. some people are better suited to not work with the public :)
Beautiful property and location. Off the beaten path while on Camino. It was an additional 4 mile walk from center of Palas de Rei. We did have easy access to rejoin the Camino from the hotel-directions from front staff. The air conditioner didn’t work-main negative. Otherwise we were very pleased with our overnight stay.
We had an enjoyable stay, staff were very friendly, and food was very good, but the hotel’s location was very remote, and the taxi driver got lost twice en route.

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS UNIQUE , INTHE CENTER OF A FOREST , ; NOTEWITHSTANDING THE HOTEL SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE RUNDOWN . THE HOTEL STAFF AND DINING ROOM PERSONNEL OUTSTANDING . THE FOOD OF UTMOST QUALITY . WHAT IS NEEDED IS AN IMPROVEMENTOF THE PHISICAL FACILITIES . IT IS A GOOD CHOICE FOR A FEW RELAXING DAYS .
For a Spa Hotel it is excellent, tourist wise or for the Camino de Santiago I found it to be a some what far from the city. In all other aspects it was great.
Isolated hotel which we reached from the town by taxi for 8€. We were walking the Camino, and in the morning were told that we could walk 3.5k to pick up the trail instead of returning to the town. Meal in hotel restaurant was excellent. Disappointed to find out that if we wanted to use the swimming pool there would be an extra 16€ charge. Rooms in the outside buildings were a bit lifeless and gloomy - ours were painted a horrible green, with not very large windows to maximise surroundings. However, bathroom was good and sitting outside on the hotel terrace in the sun was wonderful.
€8 taxi ride from Palas de Rei. Comfortable beds, tub for soaking, quiet for sleeping. Dinner begins at 8:30pm. We had the fish of the day and it was delicious.
Friend used the spa for €15 which she said was a bit expensive for the limited hours. Swimming cap is mandatory and they sell them if you don't have one.
Breakfast was breads, meats and cheese, fruit and yogurt. Plenty to get moving!
Easy walk back to Camino in the morning.

Really nice place. Be wary of the swimming pool though €60 to take a family for a swim in a small pool is a bit rich
