Cramped Stay with Cleanliness Concerns

I stayed at the Baymont by Wyndham Petoskey and found the experience to be just okay. The room felt cramped and smaller than expected, which made it hard to relax. Cleanliness was a concern—I found hairs on the bed during my usual inspection and had to request fresh sheets. Thankfully, the staff was courteous and handled the request without issue. The hotel offers free snacks throughout the day, which was a nice touch. They also provide breakfast, but I didn’t get a chance to try it. The property is located on a hill, but unfortunately, it didn’t offer much of a view. Overall, it was a “meh” kind of stay. Not terrible, but not great either. I appreciated the staff’s professionalism, but I’d likely explore other options next time unless improvements are made.

The bathroom in our room was filthy. Smelled strongly of urine and had dries feces on the toilet seat. Room advertised balcony view of the bay. No balcony. Very disappointing experience.

Place is beat up a little. King bed is 2 twins so after day 2 you're laying in the crease. Tub is old. I don't like to complain but I've stayed here a few times and this time i noticed it & had a really bad experience

There was a pair of underwear hanging in the room - not mine. Carpet not vacuumed. Mildew and hair in the bathtub. The only thing nice I can say is the desk clerk immediately initiated a refund- after asking if I would like a different room.

NASTY. DO NOT STAY HERE. SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY!! Had booked one night to stay here for hubby & I anniversary, the room smelled like bed bugs (look up their smell, you’ll know what I’m talking about), stained blood & who knows what else on the sheets, countertops were nasty, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned there was hair everywhere even in the tub. Front desk was kind, charged us for one dog instead of two. But don’t stay here, it’s nasty. People linger around this building too, weird.

The room was as represented. There was one plastic cup provided for 2 travelers and no hangers in the room. The drain for the sink needed attention. Stairs and outside areas were in need of repair and cleaning. Would not recommend.

The room was really nice. Everything was clean breakfast looked good however it looked like a mob scene with kids running around and getting food. I decided just to grab a cup of coffee and go to Petoskey for breakfast. Staff was super nice. They were doing the best they could. An elevator would’ve been nice. However, the stairs were safe and wide. I would stay there again.

Room was not as represented in the above Expedia photo. It was old and musty with a window opening on a walkway where people access their rooms. Could not stay in the room due to coughing and sneezing from mold. No screen in the window to enable airing the room. There were also stains on the linens. I returned the key cards within an hour of pickup and asked for a refund but was informed that Expedia would have to refund my money.

Decent, but issues for sure

The first room we had reserved had dirty sheets and a dirty wash cloth hanging on the shower. Also the TV did not work. I called down to the front desk and they were very apologetic and nice and offered us another room in the other building. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were sub par at best. Basic cheap hotel room. If you have another option I really recommend this place.

This room was a poor value. The next night we paid less and the quality was much better. The two things that bothered us the most was that the bathroom door was broken and off its hinges and that the room had that stale smoker smell. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was pretty good except that chili was in the pot you expect to find oatmeal. Management needs to put some money into this property.
