I am putting below what I put in my email to the hotel via the expedia portal:
"Hello, there are a couple of things bothering me. First, your hotel is marked as an "Oceanfront" hotel and that is what I thought I was booking. When we pulled up, I see the hotel is one block away from the beach. I did not say anything when checking in as I did not want to seem like a complainer with my companion so we went about our business. The stay was generally ok but after getting home yestrerday and reviewing my reservation, there is nothing state on my reservation that said I would be a block away. I went and looked at all those beautiful photos online remembering why I booked this hotel, but yet I did not get any of that! no patio facing the water, no outdoor pool, no convenience of having a bathroom a couple steps away from the beach, nothing. yes, the room was ok. The next day when we went down the street to get coffee, I see you have another hotel there, on the beach. Why was I not staying on the Ocean front? We were never told about this at check in. Were there facilities there that we were allowed to use? Does not look like that was the case and yet you are charging us a resort fee. For what? you don't need beach passes after labor day. There are no outdoor grounds in the building we stayed and feel like it was a bait and switch. I feel like we got way less of a product than we were shown on your Expedia listing.
