We assumed that when we booked a room in the lodge that it would be a decent room, even though there was a shared bathroom. The room was smaller than some jail cells that I have seen. A double bed was pushed up against the wall, so that the person sleeping on one side of the bed would have to crawl over the other one. There was no bedside table, so no place to put anything you might want to hand. It was simply impossible. So, I went to the front desk and asked for a refund, and they said it was against their policy. We just left and found a hotel in Medford. It was a horrible mistake to book this place.

Cabin had a musty smell but we had hot water and a warm place to sleep. No wifi connection or service for about 20+ miles in either direction. Only about 22 min from entrance of park. Lots of close hiking nearby.

We were very pleased with our one night stay at Union Creek Resort. The staff was helpful and friendly and they gave us good info on the area. The resort has a wonderful rustic feel with Union Creek running right beside the property. We enjoyed Beckie's Restaurant right across the road for dinner. They had reasonable prices for very good food and good service. We were able to stop at the Rogue River Gorge and the Natural Bridge that are very close (the staff can give you directions of you need them) and take a short hike on the Union Creek Trail that has a trailhead on the property.

I thought the resort was lovely. My major frustration was I could not get a good Internet connection in my cabin, and I needed to take care of a few things. But you could walk across the street and get the Internet on your Resturant

The cabin location was fine, close to the Crater Lake park. The place was rustic but clean. However, it desperately needs proper kitchen oven, which was in disrepair, new cutlery, plates and other items necessary to prepare and serve food. The bathroom needs an upgrade too - no place to put cosmetics, a small cabinet would have been fine. So overall it offers a bed, but really nothing more than that. I was expecting better conditions for the price.

My wife and I stayed at the main house in a bedroom on the second floor. The room had lots of character and was comfortable. No TV (good) and next to no internet connection (good or bad, depending on your plans). Its insanely close to Crater Lake, has trails and a stream with chairs. There is a store on site and a restaurant across the street. It was really quiet. The shared bathrooms were fine - dont let dissuade you - they are fine. There was no a/c, but the fan seemed to suffice for us. The place is brimming with charm and lots of outdoorsy things to do within a short drive. There is no cell coverage and their internet is weak. Unless you have satellite internet or use maps, its a challenge to plot your day.

I really enjoyed my stay, however if you are staying in the single rooms in the lodge just know there are only sinks in the room no bathroom. The bathrooms are shared, they were kept clean and I never had an issue with them constantly being in use. The rooms are old for sure but it had a cozy cabin feeling to them. I stayed in the summer, if it were winter I would imagine the rooms would get really cold with the outdated wood windows. Would definitely go again, there are tons of hiking trails and a restaurant cross the street, a charming river runs right next to the resort and the staff was so friendly.

This place is not a great option if you want to visit Crater Lake; it takes 40 mins to get to the Rim Village visitor center. While clean the rooms are very tight and rustic, also no TV or wifi and there’s no common area for entertainment. I would recommend staying there.

Cute and remote

We had to cancel our stay at the resort due to the dense vegitation - my husband has severe asthma and was going into respiratory distress. The young lady at the resort was so very nice and understanding of his lung condition and allowed us to cancel immediately. The setting of the lodge and cabins was wooded - peaceful - it looked like it would have been fun to stay there. Thank her for being so nice.

Rustic expected but not lack of AC & internet!

Air conditioner was frozen over & gaps between window and AC. No internet at all. No television in cabin. Knew it would be remote but lack of AC when it was so warm. Also warning about lead in water made making coffee and taking meds a little discomforting. Becky’s restaurant was great! Thanks to April for helping us with directions!

Quaint set of cottages in the middle of the Oregon woods approx 30-45 min from Crater Lake National Park. If you're looking for somewhere to stay that will remind you (in all the good ways) of how we vacationed in the 50's, this is it. They're clean and have A/C, but just don't go looking for cell or WiFi service!
