Parking was in full dark lot and room numbers were not visible. Wind and cold was blowing through the door to our room because it is a motel, not a hotel. The heat was not on in the room so it was freezing upon arrival. Dogs barking and people talking outside our room all night and the heater sounded as if it were a jet engine ready to take off every time it kicked on. Three night stay was quickly reduced to one and we relocated.

First room was remodeled, looked nice and bed comfortable but that is as far as it goes. First rooms are in separate buildings, outside entrance, no pics showing this (not preferred as women travelers). Sign on door stating staff only there 7am to 10pm due to staff but no communication prior to checkin. Received many messages but nothing about this. Toilet seat was broken, bathroom window no curtain on it, could see in and out. Tv wasnt connected to internet or live tv, still had stickers on it as it was new. Told staff upon check out and said I should have called by pressing zero— no phone in room. He wanted to argue with me about bathroom window. Not a comfortable feeling regardless. Towels were stained, black hand prints on shower walls.

The staff was super friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding!! One disappointment was that the bed in room 420 is horrible for anyone with any back issues!

Bedding was dirty, floor wasn't cleaned,Toilet barely flushed, had to go to office multiple times to have room key reset until they had to come and use a metal key to open it. Staff and owner are very rude. Kept insisting that we had a pet in the room to keep our deposit, with no proof whatsoever or willingness to provide evidence. The office and lobby are closed suddenly for hours with no one answering the phone mid day. This is by far the worst motel in Rapid City and I've lived here for almost 40 years!

Room was dirty, smelled gross and musty. The heat/fan wasn’t working and we all ended up sick with coughing and all over itching that we didn’t have before sleeping there. We left our trip a day early sick.
