the property was beautiful. rooms were spacious, quiet,and clean, as was the rest of the hotel. nice lobby area, comfortable and cozy. fun evening cocktails with a dj spinning tunes. and turntables in the room with a WIDE selection of LPs. the only drawback was the room we were given: an accessable room, even though i requested otherwise. there was no vanity or even a countertop in the bathroom. just the sink, wall mounted, with the tiniest rim. a tiny corner table, and a tiny cart for towels to be put on. no towel bars or hooks of any kind to hang a towel on, aside from the handrails. i can appreciate how important this is for someone who needs it, but at least one place to put things would be good for those of us that don't. just a hook to put clothes or a towel on, at the very least. other than that, it was such a nice property! walkable to everything, including abundant transit. and the restaurant! love filipino food!! highly reccomend a stay here!

My husband and I went with our kids (3 and 1) and it was amazing! The daily happy hour provided coloring for my daughter and it was a 2 minute walk to the wharf. Definitely will be going back! Also, check out the restaurant! More of a sharing style but delicious!

The Alton was the perfect place to stay in San Francisco! It was within walking distance to great areas and Abaca (the restaurant in the hotel) was fabulous! Everyone was really accommodating as well.

I’ll stay somewhere else next time

I picked this place over others and paid more because it looked nice and I love Kimpton usually and I was supposed to get some sort of membership perks from hotels.com. Got no perk and maybe I just got a bad room but was very meh. Basically an English basement room. Just really underwhelmed. Gym is very small. Everything very meh but the restaurant.

So many things make this hotel unique! Each room has its own record player & there are records available to borrow in the lobby. I loved listening to Harry Styles on vinyl while getting ready in the morning :) the Filipino restaurant, Abaca, in the lobby was absolutely amazing and a must try. This hotel was clean, the staff were so kind, and the location was perfect! Would definitely come back!
