Expected better.

Over the years I had heard good things about the Apple Farm - both the Inn and the restaurant. I was somewhat disappointed. At check in, the people at the desk seemed somewhat overwhelmed. We waited while one person "cleared rooms" on the computer so they were able to check people in. The other person was giving a guest dining options, but didn't seem sure where the restaurants were located. Our only request was a quiet room -- our room was very close to the freeway. The room was well appointed, but very small -- pictures made the room look larger. No bottles of water as promised. No mention of complimentary glass of wine as promised. These were to be included with the resort charge we paid. Yes, we could have asked about these things but after witnessing the check-in process, we decided against asking. Purchased a croissant and muffin at the bakery for breakfast - both were not very good -- and a bit expensive at $5 each. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the fireplace was a nice addition. Final thought -- we will never stay here again.

Love the Apple Farm Inn and try to stay whenever in SLO. The rooms in the main inn are very spacious, individually decorated, comfortable, quiet and serene. The property has a pool and spa, will give you a robe on request. There is complimentary wine tasting from 3 pm till maybe 8 pm (?) and a bakery/breakfast restaurant on the property. The staff are very accommodating and it is a special treat staying there. Great night sleep on a super comfy bed in a serenely quiet Inn. Have not been in the adjacent buildings so cannot comment on those accommodations.

I checked in late at night and left the next morning. The place is very charming and my room was beautiful. However, I was given an "accessable" room (I think most of them are). As a tall person this is something I try hard to avoid. I didn't see the fine print w the booking. The shower head handle didn't work so the faucet came up to my belly. It was very disappointing to say the least!

Lots of charm

We loved all the amenidies in the room. This is the first time we ever had a fireplace in the room. And the fancy shower was also a surprise. It was just one night but it made memories.
