Prepaid with Expedia for a double queen room. Show us and I’m told they have upgraded me to a single king. Because Expedia over booked them. Not an upgrade and not OK. My whole family doesn’t fit in a single king. They made no effort to contact me before I arrived and dropped this on me at 11:50 pm after driving all day. No offer of a roll away bed or anything else offered to address my immediate issue of not having the beds that I already purchased. No offer of a second room for a second bed. As soon as the hotel knew this was an issue they could have alerted me and allowed me to find another hotel before this became a crisis an a night without sleep. It is the overbook racket just like the airlines business hoping for no shows but still collecting money on unused sales. There should be a law against over booking and make it illegal to profit of the practice. If this was a mistake as they claim they should have been proactive vs calling it an upgrade. Oh and my booking included my family size and ages, they knew and just hoped it would somehow work out or we would be a no show. Yes, Expedia has now refunded me which is appreciated but this whole situation could have been avoided if the hotel would have been transparent and alerted me they had an issue or offered me an additional bed or actual solution.

An awesome place to stay right at the base of Schweitzer Resort!! Convenient location with restaurants within walking, or about a 5 minute drive to Sandpoint. Very clean room. Kind staff. Free breakfast at the restaurant in the parking lot, it was delicious!! Would absolutely stay here again.

The staff was friendly and helpful, they greated us will a smile everytime we passed the counter. Room was comfortable and quiet. Best hot water! We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub at the end of the day. Cant beat the breakfast. We will come back.

Such a great hotel! The indoor hot tubs and pool were great at the end of the long day with kids. We went in January hoping for snow, and got our wish! The hotel has sleds you can rent from the front desk for free and a fun sledding hill behind the pool area. The room was clean and perfect for our large group (we had the Family Suite) and everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. The drive to downtown Sandpoint is less than ten minutes. The free breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door was an amazing added benefit! The man running it was so nice and attentive (without being pushy) and the food was way better than usual free hotel breakfast. (Pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, toast, fruit and yogurt bar) all in all we had a great time and would stay here again!

We have stayed at the Ruby several times since it opened. I like that the rooms are clean, the building is well maintained, the staff is both friendly and helpful. I travel with a large service dog I need for both mobility and balance. The Ruby has a nice fenced and gated dog area. The restaurant is located on the grounds and has a good breakfast free for guests and reduced price for on menu items.Also discount on lunch and dinner for hotel guests.
