But here for a quick stop to move my daughter out of the dorms and home for the summer. Solvang is an affordable option compared to Santa Barbara. This hotel provided everything we needed. Clean, comfortable and affordable. Great location and they offer a passport with discounts at local businesses.

We chose King Frederik Inn for its reasonable rate and great central location in Solvang. We were a few minutes walking distance to just about everything. The room was clean but a bit outdated. The mattress was too soft for my liking but we still got a good night sleep. I was very pleased to find a noise machine next to the bed. I use one at home and I was able to fall asleep to the sound of rain. It was very quiet and we did not hear any noise from our neighbors. A big hit was the discount card we were given at check in with a list of places we could get a discount at. We used the card at 6 different businesses. The one thing I do have a complaint about: after booking the room I received an email from King Frederik Inn telling us about the breakfast offerings which included “fresh local pastries and muffins for a sweet start to your day”. We were excited for this as Solvang is known for its delicious pastries. We arrived at the lobby at 7:40am. There were no pastries or muffins offered at all. Only fruit, yogurt, granola bars. If they are not providing fresh local pastries and muffins then please stop sending out emails stating that you do. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and will likely book there in the future.

I like this hotel. It's in the middle of things in Solvang. We've stayed here many times over decades starting back when it was a Best Western. This is my usual choice for the Solvang area.

Location great, but nothing too special

Perfect location—right in the center of Solvang main streets. The rooms were a little outdated. But beds were comfy. The only thing is there are loud noises—people walking outside of the room/pool and the fridge in the room was loud and kept waking em up every couple of hours. “VIP Silver member” didn’t get anything different in regards to complementary brwkfasts—they gave it as an option for everyone, and it was packaged oatmeal and granola bars. The only really cool thing was the coupon sheet that we used—so def check in and get that sheet, then walk around.

Nice hotel right in the center of town. Plenty of parking. Easy to walk to all the sites. Staff super friendly. Room with 2 Queen beds is spacious with bonus sleep machine. Nice and clean, even though on the rustic side. Would recommend this hotel.
