My first night was wonderful. The room on the third floor was large and the property is charming. My friend joined me the next night and we enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting by the outdoor fireplace. The problem began with guests partying after 10pm. I called the front desk, where the agent told me she would do a walk-around to confirm where the noisy guests were before contacting the guest. I called back 15 minutes later to learn there was a shift change, and this agent told me the same thing about the walk-around. And this time the noises stopped. BUT at 12:45 AM they must have returned from the bars because they woke us up shouting. I called the front desk three times before walking down two lfights of stairs (outside in the rain) to wake the front desk person up to complain about the noise. I did my own walk-around to figure out which room was the noisy room. It was 1:15AM at this point. He said he would try to get them to be quiet. We heard them until 2 AM. I'm a former hotel worker of 6 years including a brief stint working at the front desk at a busy Hyatt. I get it. Due to all our troubles and lack of sleep and their inabilty to quiet the noisy guests, I simply asked for them to reimburse me the pet fee for two pets. The lodging reiumbursed me for one pet fee, not two. It was a simple thing to do to avoid this rant. I have spent many nights in many hotels and inns without a problem. The guests shouting with the paper thin floors is not OK.

Solvang Classic

Good location, easy to walk around. Hotel is classic Solvang, a little old school but has some modern touches about. Friendly front desk, loft room was big enough for what we needed!

It's a very basic property in a good location. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see in downtown Solvang. The room itself was average. I was annoyed by the sink that didn't drain well, the low water pressure in the shower (took forever to get the shampoo out of my long hair), and the hairs all over my pillow, which made me wonder if the sheets had been changed after the previous guest. We were tired enough after a long day of traveling that we just dealt with it, but I probably would not stay here again if I could find a nicer option.
