Treetops is Saugatuck’s only rental featuring three neighboring vintage cottages—perfect for multi-family getaways. Nestled around a shared firepit and professionally maintained hot tub, each cottage offers screened porches, harbor or dune views, and generous outdoor space for grilling and gathering. Cottages may be reserved individually or together, depending on availability. This listing is for the Lookout Cottage.

The Lookout Cottage: Open concept living with vintage cottage finishes and a lovely farm-style kitchen. A bedroom is attached to the main living space, coupled with a large bathroom, providing plenty of capacity for 4 guests. A queen-sized Room and Board sleeper sofa and sleeping porch with a twin trundle bed is available for extra sleeping. The Lookout has a large screened porch with views of the harbor. The fire pit has the best views in town, you have to see it to believe it! Includes washer/dryer.

Perched high atop the 50-foot sand dune, The Lookout boasts the best views of the harbor and downtown Saugatuck, making its screened-in sleeping porch the most coveted room in the Treetops. With plenty of living space and an eat-in kitchen, this is the perfect cottage for a couple, small group, or family of 3-4.

The Lookout comes with a spectacular location. Perched on top of a 50-foot dune, the complex is positioned directly across the lake from downtown Saugatuck. As the primary means of access to Lake Michigan, the harbor is perpetually full of boats, music, and other fun sights viewable from the cottage porches and firepit. It’s also a short 15 minute dune hike (or 2-minute drive) to award-winning Oval Beach, named in Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 25 Beaches in the World, National Geographic Traveler’s Top Freshwater Beaches in the USA, and MTV’s Top 5 Beaches in the USA.

The Lookout’s spacious, gourmet kitchen includes everything a chef could need: a range, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans and more. Plus, a four-top dining table adds comfort to your morning cup of joe and locally-purchased pastries.

During holiday celebrations, panoramic firework views are unrivaled, launched mere feet away.

The Lookout sits on the highest point of the Treetops complex with easy access to the shared firepit, outdoor dining area, and professionally maintained hot tub.

What a beautiful spot! This was the perfect place for our Honeymoon weekend. The hot tub was very clean and ready to go for the weekend. The view from the screen porch was wonderful, and the cabin was so charming. We didn't do a very good job following the directions and parked in the wrong spot/used the wrong stairs initially - be sure to find the gravel road alley past the red cottage and use the stone stairs between Lookout and Dunebuggy!

The place was very clean and well equipped. We stayed after Oct 1 so ferry wasn’t working and had to drive to town. Hot tub was closed but wouldn’t have used. Steps from our parking lot to cottage were rustic and a lot. All of the negatives may have been in description but I didn’t catch. I would still recommend place but just be aware of surroundings. Fire pit area was great and offered nice view of town. Could even hear music from venues in the evening. Overall very nice place.

Saugatuck and Douglas are wonderful small towns with many varied, friendly stores and restaurants! The cottage is in great location to access the mains trips of both towns within minutes, as well as Oval Beach and other water options! The hot tub is well-maintained, communication with the host is friendly and prompt, and your stay will be worth it! The only note is the lake/channel view is across the street, so there are other homes in view as well.A definite worth-while stay!!

The property was beautiful in woods Many jaggedly stairs up which were shaky and not attached firmly in the ground, so very unsafe until fixed. The outside hot tub looked questionable and the shower by it the floor was rotten and do it was unusable. It was dusty on window ledges. needed to call for more sheets and blankets. The outside fire pit was exceptional. Wonderful views of river and town. The kitchen equipment was adequate. Bring your bug spray! And have a good flashlight handy if you’re going out at nite! it was a good stay after the owner fixed a few things. The property could use some TLC.

Mother’s Day Trip

The property was very clean and nicely decorated. However, having no blinds or curtains in the living room and the cottage facing another rental…. No privacy! If the other guests used the hot tub at night which they did, they had to walk on our front porch area to get there and obviously we were inside relaxing.Full exposure …Uncomfortably situation. And the string lights came on around 8:30 and lit up fully around the cottage. They did not turn off until 4 am. Try sleeping with that. Along with no fitted sheet to go one the sofa couch. Sooo….If you like privacy and comfortable sleeping arrangements, choose another place.

Perfect Romantic Getaway

I brought my partner here for a surprise birthday weekend and it was perfect! The cabin is so charming and beautiful and really feels special. You can tell the care put into the property and the thoughtfulness of the hosts. The location is a perfect homebase for hiking and exploring the charming surrounding towns while also feeling like you’re in your own private piece of the world. I would absolutely visit again!

Amazing winter getaway

A great cabin to recharge your batteries. We had the whole property to ourselves and really enjoyed the quiet. We were greeted daily by grazing deer and enjoyed listening to all the local birds. Very quick drive into town for groceries and restaurants. Very easy to communicate with the owners with any questions we had. 10/10 recommend.

Winter getaway

Nice property. The main cabin side was well lit at check in but the path leading up to Overlook was dark and a bit unwelcoming at first, but once I got inside it was a charming retreat. Current construction on Ferry Street also makes accessing the property a bit tricky - but I’m sure that will be sorted in no time! The idea of the summer chain ferry sounds amazing and wish it had been in operation for the stay! Many deer throughout the neighborhood so be careful driving! Beautiful!

Super cute!

The cabin was great. Very clean and super cute. I would suggest that it is better for only 2-3 guests as there is no privacy in the bedroom. The cabins are also super close together so not the best place if you are looking for privacy and quiet, but otherwise we had a great time!
