Impromptu trip to Seaside

It was just Ok for just one night. Can’t see staying there for several days. My room was clean but very dated, old furniture with obvious scuffs & scratches. Windows were disabled so unable to open. Ice machine didn’t work. Layout of this self described boutique hotel is odd - hallways are dark & narrow. As solo traveler, I wasn’t impressed with over all building security.

The hotel room was nicely decorated with beautiful outdoor views, but the experience was awful! The bathtub wouldn’t hold water, and the shower drain was severely clogged, forcing our family to awkwardly wash in the tub. We called the front desk, but no one answered. At checkout, we raised the issue, and they promised the owner would contact us—never happened. When we complained via Expedia, the hotel denied the clog, claiming the property was newly renovated and they were unaware of any issue. Utterly unacceptable service. Do not recommend!

The front desk rep wasn’t very helpful. He forgot to give me the WiFi password so I had to go back and get it as he wouldn’t answer the phone. I wasn’t able to get the fireplace working in my room which he offered no help in checking out or fixing and he wasn’t sure how to get the smart tv to work. Very disappointed with the lack of assistance

They are under construction but didn’t post anything on their website about it. We were woken up at 8:01 am with hammering, riveting and power saws. Mattress was also slumped in the middle. Management didn’t apologize or make any amends. 2nd night some obnoxious people checked in and kept talking loudly in the hallway not taking into consideration that others were on the floor. This set off all dogs to start barking from their rooms. Again, management didn’t care or make amends. I don’t recommend only because management seemed to be only worried that they get their money.

You are definitely paying for the location of the hotel (not what the hotel actually offers). The room is very small. No closets or drawers to put away clothes. The bed feels like it's been there for 20 years. The elevator is very slow. There are 2 chairs in the room (one that has a bottomed out cushion from broken springs). Every door had to be slammed shut or forced open. The ice machine & vending machines were out of service. The hotel is just run down, though the pictures do not suggest it. For $300 a night, anyone should expect a little more.

Maintenance Needed

We were so excited to stay in a penthouse room with the dark green quirky bathroom in the loft, but right away we noticed a huge crack in the center picture window, which caused a failed seal and a lot of condensation to obstruct the view. We were also concerned with our small children touching it in case it caused the crack to worsen, or get injured by it, as the crack ran from edge to edge in the pane. Additionally, the upstairs sink, which is in the loft that is open to the rest of the room, had a significant drip- which dripped nonstop- and made it a very unrestful night. I think this room has a lot of potential, but unfortunately those two maintenance items caused significant comfort issues. There shouldn't be any drippy faucets with such a high per night rate. The location is fantastic, we just wish those two maintenance issues would be addressed. I think it would have been a great stay otherwise. One more note- the restaurant in the ground floor closed permanently, and the space is currently under construction. They started work around 8am, so the noise shouldn't impact you unless you plan to sleep in late.

The overall stay was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But, please fix the broken window glass. It was sharp to the touch and we had to keep our kid constantly away from this. Because the glass was broken, there was constant condensation and also dust on the glass made the sea view average. The reason we wanted this room was to enjoy the sea view.

Last minute

Check in was amazingly easy. Parking was across the street but fir the view that was perfectly fine. Quiet building and no issues with checking in or finding our room. I was very happy with the room and the stay. We literally booked our room at 4:15pm from the restraunt and then walked right over and checked in.

The location is good and that's about it. The house is really old and our room was dated. Fireplace didn't work, water made terrible noise coming out of taps, coffee machine didn't work and I wouldn't drink any coffee coming out of that machine. Window glass was broken and felt they weren't cleaned in a while as well. Overall disappointed.

Beautiful view of the beach and lovely kitchen with romantic bathroom/soaking tub. One window had some water damage which made visibility less clear but other than that the room was great.

The staff was very friendly from the front desk to Housekeeping when we would run into them on the staircase. Breakfast was great and we also got a doggie basket for our little pup which included dog treats, a pet blanket, and wash clothes shaped life like a dog. Would highly recommend. The oceanfront view was amazing!

Ice machines out of order and wet spillage in hallway. Otherwise thin walls, a great stay. Felt safe and secure with locked gates. Really enjoyed the outdoor space and walkable location. Coffee maker too dirty for use. Lobby morning coffee would be so gracious due to the poor condition of in room coffee makers. Otherwise,we would stay again. Thank u for pet friendliness. We would be happy to return in the future.

We will come back for sure. This is the first trip we’ve had in a hotel, and it was nice. Only thing that was disappointing was other pet owners didn’t clean up after their dogs. And that wasn’t specific to where we stayed but throughout the Promenade.
