Awesome to stay in the park - otherwise mediocre

Staying inside the park was perfect. But overall the lodgings are not great value for money. Staff in the lodge reception were a bit clueless. We asked for some basic advice about where to park for seeing some highlights in the park and the need for snow chains and reception staff didn’t seem to know much. The lodging is in a separate building which is fine. A bit like a motel in the middle of the woods. Plenty of parking. Half of the rooms are on the 2nd floor with no elevator. We were lucky to get a 1st floor room so we didn’t have to carry luggage up. Plenty warm enough even in snowy, cold conditions and clean enough. Your only food option is the restaurant in the lodge which gets booked up so make sure to reserve when you arrive. The restaurant is ok but not amazing.

Beautiful location

Fantastic location for Sequoia National Park. Close to the Giant Forest and General Sherman.

Natürlich top Standort und schöne Gebäude in idyllischer Umgebung. Empfang ist auch top. Restaurant erscheint auf den ersten Blick super. Service und Konzept des Restaurants ist aber ungenügend. Das Frühstück haben wir uns später sogar selber organisiert… WIFI ist Katastrophe und kein sonstiger Empfang. Letztlich schade für den Preis und was es sein könnte - typisch für ein Monopol.
