Weekend trip to Eastern Kentucky

This hotel is a mountain lodge. It was very comfortable. Ok on cleanliness. The balcony of the room was like to were in the middle of the forest, very relaxing to sit and have a cocktail or coffee. I loved the fact that it was very close to hiking trails to the natural bridge. You can just walk out your door from the hemlock lodge and the trails are right in the parking lot behind the lodge. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was good also. I would definitely stay here again

Linens and towels and bathroom were clean and sanitary but floors were filthy. They hadn't turned A/C on for season so room was too hot. Front desk folks were not friendly at all. Free breakfast was good. Room was dated. Grout discolored and worn in bathroom. Spotty wifi. I wouldn't go back.

We enjoyed staying right at the park, convenient to trails. The onsite tavern was nice. Bartender Dan was very friendly, helpful. Our room was ok, clean. Although the A/C was not very cool, and we didn't seem to be able to adjust it. The room also smelled a little like dog. We did like the balcony off our room with a screen door.

We stayed in a cottage. The cottage needs a lot of repairs. We had to climb 36 stairs in rainy conditions to reach our cabin. The complimentary breakfast was nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The walk to the restaurant from the cottages was outstanding and fun. Despite the state of disrepair to our cabin, we would still recommend this location as a must-do family adventure and destination.

This is a no-frills lodge perfect for hikers or climbers. Free Continental breakfast is provided, but know that when it says it ends at 10 that there will be nothing left out at 10 (plan accordingly). The rooms could stand to be updated, but they were very clean and served their purpose for us hikers! Beautiful scenery and easy access trail to the natural bridge! If you are looking for a clean place to lay your head for a night or two then this is a good fit.

The cabin we stayed at was way up the h mountain from the lodge. We arrived at night and were given a hurried set of instructions with a map. The guy actually said I have other things to do so I’d like to make this quick.
