Treehouse Place at Deer Ridge! The Ole' Mill!

Summary:
Welcome to the Ole' Treehouse Mill! Come see forest critters, and mountain views from this one of a kind getaway! I dedicated a year to reclaiming this structure from a mill previously located near Seattle that was set to be demolished to make room for high density housing. Not only did I wish to save this building, I wanted to create a peaceful and romantic place where lasting memories would be made. As the cities grow, I believe special places like this become more important.

The Space:
Welcome to The Ole’ Mill — A Storybook Treehouse Retreat!

Featured by Outside Magazine as a #1 Destination in Washington, The Ole’ Mill offers a truly magical experience you’ll never forget.

Wake up to sunrise rays over Mt. Pilchuck, and throughout the day, spot deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, and soaring bald eagles.
As night falls, listen for coyotes in the distance or watch raccoons and owls roam under the stars.
A gentle seasonal stream even turns the fully restored waterwheel — adding to the peaceful, fairytale setting.

Inside the Mill:

Enter through beautiful French doors into soaring ceilings and an open, airy space.
Luxury bedside soaking tub — relax while taking in the natural views.
High-end full-size Murphy bed with premium bedding
Cozy upstairs loft — perfect for reading, relaxing, or sharing a quiet moment.
Kitchenette with everything you need to prepare simple meals
Custom wine barrel table and stools for charming indoor dining
Private restroom with an eco-friendly incinerating toilet and pedestal sink.
Outdoor Spaces:

Covered cedar deck with seating, a BBQ grill, and a majestic cedar tree at your side — often visited by songbirds
Private hot tub near the firepit — an ideal spot to soak, sip, and stargaze

Although technically not supported by trees (nicer to the trees) you are about 15 feet above ground at the front and 10 ft at the back. This puts you up in the tree canopy with the birds.

No ladders are required other than for the loft. You are welcome to stroll the grounds. It is quite and peaceful but you may hear one of our cars depart or arrive throughout the day. At times you may hear seasonal yard maintenance. Some of the grounds are in view of the main home. Sometimes the surrounding land is used for dirt bikes so you may hear that in the distance. It's rare but we want to tell you it's possible. The grounds offer incredible views and are lit at night. We are high up on a hill and the star gazing from the yard can be quite something on a clear night. You will have full access to walk the park like yard or walk the woods.
Don't forget to add us to your "Wished" list!

Relaxing oasis

We loved this gem , we had no issues. We spent our entire days here , leaving once for a short drive for approx 1/2 hour. I could've spent an additional day here. Loved the soaking tub. We were able to cook all our meals , the huge fan was a bonus. We enjoyed sitting outside , listening to the birds and just relaxing . We would definitely rebook this gem or check out the other properties listed by the host. Cute reading nook or meditation loft above. This is one of those trips where you can just plan on staying inside or at the property and refreshing your soul ,,bring Everthing you think you will need so you don't have to leave ( :

Romantic getaway

This place is a fantastic get away for couples. Communication with property owner was excellent with very fast response to a question I had. Everything is SO clean and the layout is cute. The toilet seems to be updated from previous reviews. It's pretty simple to use. You'll love the view of Mount Pilchuck!!

Cute treehouse

This tree house was very nice! Lovely view, comfy bed, very quiet. The one slight issue we ran into was the incinerator toilet. It made the tree house a little smoky. But other than that, it was a lovely place to stay. The owners were very responsive and accommodating.

Little piece if paradise!

I loved the cabin! As soon as I saw it I had to smile. The view is fantastic and I loved the big tub in the room and the fire place. The location is fantastic if you're trying to get away for a quiet peaceful getaway. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because I am very noise sensitive and the sound the toilet makes for 90 min after it's been "flushed" kept me from sleeping. Also the mattress made my back hurt (but some people might like the super soft mattress).

Fun but stinky

We wanted so bad to give a 5 star review because we had such a nice time there but here is the issue...... The bathroom smelled so bad. I would of probably given 5 stars still if some kinda air freshener was left. We had to spray hand sanitizer to somewhat get rid of that smell. It had one of those toilets that burns your 💩 so it has nothing to do with cleanliness but still you know that stinks. Everything else was so much fun and wonderful. I'm mean the tub was awesome and the hot water never went cold. The mill creaking behind the house was so cool it made watching scary movies so much scarier. The only other thing is a 10am check out Time was kinda a blow. I would of much preferred to sleep in longer and not be so rushed. 4.5 stars

Cute and Peaceful Getaway

Cons: there weren’t check-in instructions so we didn’t know the code to unlock the door. Luckily it was unlocked when we arrived, but we weren’t able to lock the door when we left (not a big concern). It’s also not a treehouse so much as it has trees around it. Pros: we loved it. The mill wheel was peaceful and I liked hearing it when I woke up in the night. The location is convenient for an overnight getaway from Bothell. The tub is every bit as great as it looks. My partner and I drank whiskey and soaked by candlelight while talking about our plans for the fall and winter. The property is new so it still has that fresh wood smell! Ultimately it’s a cute little spot for a night away from kids and pets :)
