The property was nice. The oceanview room had been remodeled in a really cute way, and it was very clean. Front desk service was great. The exterior building looks rough due to rust from the air conditioners, but not much can be done about that. My only complaint is not being told about the very loud parties going on from 8pm to 2am! Yes, I expected noise due to spring break, but they had about 25 cops anticipating who-knows-what. The music spewed out F bombs every other word. Skanky girls were grinding their butts together. This was at 8:30pm as we took our young daughter back to the room. There was no way to shelter her from the vulgarities. The hotel did not warn us this event would be taking place when we booked. This party was repeated for all 3 nights from 8pm to 2am. The whole room vibrated from the music. In the morning, a guest was passed out in front of the door. I might come back, but definitely not during spring break. And I'm incredibly disappointed we were not warned. Shame on Holiday Inn, a family chain.

Really enjoyed our trip to South Padre. Hotel room was lovely - an ocean view king room. The service wasn’t great, but also not terrible…. Just nonexistent really. Asking for information wasn’t met with many answers, so we stopped asking. The breakfast included option was our way to go, quite yummy. Did not eat other meals there. Location of the hotel was prime for us. Parking could be a little tricky and lots become full by sundown, so walking a distance can happen.

This resort catered to the young people. I understand that it was spring break, but they brought in vans full of young kids from the surrounding area and played ridiculously loud music until 2am. The lobby bar was supposed to be open until 11pm and many nights during the week they wanted to shut down at 10pm to give the staff a break. The bartenders at the lobby bar were also working at the Azul Ocean restaurant so often times we sat and waited over 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. It is also insane that you need to rent a chair at the beach after you spend 1400.00 on the hotel and added fees. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the resort and the staff at the desk. Nobody seemed to care about our concerns.

The staff at Holiday Inn South Padre Island was warm and friendly. However, the facility needs a serious upgrade, and the floors and bathrooms in the rooms need to be cleaned. The food was excellent- thank you to the cooking staff. My review is, therefore, mixed.

It took over half hour to get someone to check us in, to check us out and I kept calling the front office but no one answered. To check in they made me $25 that was not in the initial reservation. They told me it was not refundable and I don't think that is right. We had to change plans because we lost those 25 dollars. On top of all of it I never got help from the staff. To tell you when I was going to check out it took the front desk was completely empty, no one there to help. All of a sudden a custodian tried to help but he couldn't reach anyone either. There were several customers waiting and there was no one to help. All of a sudden a young man came in and he also made the comment that the place should not have been by itself. His shift was just starting. The room had no remote, when finally someone found it in the laundry room the tv had no channels.

Great location but this hotel needs upgrades badly, it was so damp in our room the carpet felt wet the linens felt damp and if you left any clothes out if your suitcase they were damp too their AC needs replaced I called twice to get our room cleaned they never emptied trash or did the bed only dropped off clean towels then they left them on the floor …gross who wants to use a clean towel after they were on the floor won’t ever stay here again
