We had the room reserved for two nights but before we checked in the first day I was notified of a death in my family that would require me to be back home the following day. I basically gave 24 hour notification that we would not be staying the second night and we were still charged a $50 early out fee. I thought this was unreasonable as the room was then put back up for sale. I felt we had given sufficient notice for the cancellation.

First let me say the staff was wonderful and did what they could to make our stay enjoyable . This is an older property but they have made some attempts at updated.. new furniture and carpet in the rooms. They had some how lost my reservation so I did not get the room class i had requested but they did offer me a choice of what was available and $30 off. Be advised there is no elevator and some ground floor rooms are entered for the outside like a motel. My room was not very clean, noticeably sort in grout by toilet, which was not secured to the floor very well, coffee or pop spilled/dried on the heating unit and cracked light switch plates. Low end small nonabsorbent towel and poor quality toiletries. "Free" breakfast was your basic motel 6 waffles etc. Location was not that great as no where to eat with in walking distance. All that being said there is an indoor/outdoor pool and a basic mini golf course so fun for those with kids. Just read the reviews and look at pics so u know what to expect

We'd never stayed here before but got a great deal so decided to try it out. Overall, the feel was good - nothing bad, but nothing really great either. The complimentary breakfast was jut fine. The pool was fun for the kids, but I think it got over-chlorinated the last day and they got a rash. The hotel and rooms weren't dirty, but didn't feel extraordinarily clean either. Just a little dated and like they are possibly in the middle of some updating and renovations.

More than a comfy bed.

I just needed a bed to rest on a long drive, but was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable bed, black-out curtains, nice hot breakfast, and great rate. Such a blessing! Thank you!!

The only good thing about this place is the price. You should blow it up and build something that people would be proud to stay in. It needs a major update from top to bottom. We won’t stay in it again. Ugh!

Good for a young family

The front desk staff were helpful and polite. They clearly explained how to check out equipment for mini golf, basketball, and similar activities. The room was comfortable, perfect for coming back at the end of the day and resting. Breakfast was actually really good, watch out for the waffle machine and the families with 9 people. I do wish they provided more toiletries. They only offered small bars of soap and a tiny bottle of single-use shampoo, no lotion or extra amenities. Plus the hair drier was broken. The pool and hot tub were a lot of fun for the kids. Parking was fine, as long as you returned before everyone else got back for the night. Stellar location for downtown St. George, and it’s an easy drive to Zion, Snow Canyon, and other nearby attractions. I would definitely stay again

Affordable Stay in St. George

I would stay at Red Lion again. The property is showing it's age, and there were some roof leaks in public areas (not in my room) from the HEAVY rain we had. The pool, hot tub, and outdoor recreation areas were clean and well maintained.
