Wildwood Cottage — Romantic Log Cabin Retreat in the Great Smoky Mountains

Escape to Wildwood Cottage, a cozy log cabin tucked away in the heart of Townsend, TN — just minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Designed with couples in mind, this charming 1-bedroom studio cabin is the perfect place to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the mountains.

The Experience
Step inside and feel the warmth of mountain living surround you. The open studio layout features a king-size bed with a whirlpool tub right beside it, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. In the living room, curl up by the wood-burning fireplace and watch the flames dance as you sip wine or hot cocoa.

The fully equipped kitchen and dining area make it easy to share meals together, whether you’re cooking breakfast before a day of hiking or enjoying a quiet dinner in. The bathroom offers a stand-up shower for refreshing after your outdoor adventures.

Outdoor Bliss
Step out onto your private deck and take in the fresh mountain air. Dine al fresco at the outdoor dining area, sway gently on the porch swing, or soak under the stars in your own private hot tub — the perfect ending to a day in the Smokies.

Community Perks
Located in the peaceful Timberwinds Log Cabin Community, Wildwood Cottage also gives you access to a seasonal swimming pool and pavilion, ideal for cooling off or relaxing on warm days.

Important to Know
The cabin is located up a steep mountain road, and 4x4 or AWD is required in inclement weather year-round — but that’s part of the adventure! Once you arrive, you’ll be rewarded with a quiet, private retreat that feels worlds away from the busy everyday.

The Perfect Couples’ Getaway
Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply looking for a romantic couples' stay, Wildwood Cottage offers a magical setting for making memories in the Great Smoky Mountains.

PETS
We do not accept pets in our cabins without specific written approval from management. Only those dogs that have specific and formal training as a SERVICE dog will be allowed in our cabins. Emotional support animals are not accepted.

FOR OUR PET-FRIENDLY VISITORS: PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT DOGS ARE ONLY ALLOWED ON THE 1ST FLOOR OF THIS CABIN.

PETS MUST BE APPROVED BY MANAGEMENT PRIOR TO RESERVATION. We reserve the right to refuse any pet at any time. We would like for you and your family (including the four-legged members) to have the best vacation ever, and appreciate your willingness to abide by these guidelines.

*We only accept dogs; no cats are allowed. We only accept 2 pets per reservation.
*We charge a $70.00 per-stay per-pet fee, which is not refundable.
*Your dog must be on a flea maintenance program. (Like Frontline, Advantage, etc.)
*Your dog must be crated while left in the cabin alone.
*Your dog must not get on our furniture. If we find pet hair on our furniture upon your departure, you will be charged $10.00 per quilt/comforter/sofa that must be cleaned to remove dog hair.
*If your dog damages our vacation home in any way, ie, urine on the carpet/floor, chewed furniture/walls/doors, or molding, you will be held responsible for the damage repair costs.
*Your dog must be leashed when outside of the cabin. This is for the safety of your dog, as there may be other animals in the area that could harm your beloved pet.

If damage occurs to the cabin, furnishings, etc, please report it to management as soon as possible so that the damage can be repaired. Common Concerns:
*Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy, mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins require a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather.
*TV & WiFi: We do have TV's and WiFi in almost all of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem.
*Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin, and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away, and unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. Please never feed, taunt or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors.
*There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc.
During your stay at this cabin, you'll be close to Tuckaleechee Caverns. You'll find features like a hot tub. The cabin offers free WiFi and a kitchen.
  • Air-conditioned cabin with kitchen, fireplace, and patio
  • Free WiFi
  • 9 minutes by car from Great Smoky Mountains National Park and 6 minutes from The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum
As a guest of this cabin, you'll find a hot tub and barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.

Quaint and comfortable cabin

We loved this little cabin! The layout is beautiful and the decor makes it feel like home. ❤️ Only warnings to those that are planning on renting this one is the road to get to the property is narrow, curvy, and steep. Parking is a bit tricky to back in to the property, but I think it would be even more difficult to back out of the parking space. A large vehicle may be very difficult (I drive a CRV and back in to all spaces). Also, a heads up that the shower is smaller than a standard size when it comes to floor space; it was fine for us just had to be careful of the shower curtain (for reference: husband is 6’1” at 180# and I’m 5’8” at 185#).

First Time in Townsend

Cabin was as advertised except no washer or dryer. Very clean everything we would need was there. Hot Tub was awesome. Front porch swing was very enjoyable. Weber Charcoal grill worked well. The drive way in was as much fun as a amusement park ride. Nice hills and sharp turns. We will be back again!!

Beautiful views and very nice Cabin VERY STEEP road leading up to cabin.

The cabin was very cozy and clean, perfect for relaxing. I suggest having a 4wd or truck to make it to this cabin, little cars wouldn't make it up the Very steep road, straight incline up then a very sharp right turn and incline to the cabin, not much room to turn around back up.

Disappointed

Little effort had been made for animal eradication. You try to sleep at 2am with scratchy paws above you on the roof.

Maybe fix roads

I also had a hard time driving those roads, especially at night, very hard to see. And yes slick and quite frightening without 4wd.
