Great location, wonderful beach and easy access, hotel staff was friendly, hotel was clean but interior room decor is very outdated (bed sheets did not fit bed properly so always fighting with the sheet to stay on the mattress). Breakfast boxes are a great idea but the offerings didn't seem to be fresh. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

This was quite an unusual stay for us. Everything about the hotel was clean and efficient which is of course a good thing. However, it felt very sterile. Not much personality or anything especially unique about it. Basically, it is an efficiently run property that handles a large number of guests, predominantly families with children, without much fuss or chaos. Nice long beach area with plenty of chairs. Nearby restaurants were good as well.

We booked Sugar Beach Hotel with high hopes for a nice stay, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk staff was polite and professional. However, as soon as we entered our assigned room, we were shocked at the condition. The room was dirty and felt neglected, there were crumbs on the floor, stains on the couch and chairs, a burn hole in the couch cushion, a stained lampshade, an unsecured outlet in the wall, and dirty sheets and bathroom. Bugs were present in the room, and within 10 minutes, we all had mosquito bites, which is unacceptable, especially with a 3-year-old in tow. We took many photos to document the room’s condition. We immediately went to the front desk to request a new room, but were told there were no other rooms available. They offered to clean the room, but the issues went far beyond what cleaning could fix. The bugs, stains, and overall poor maintenance made the room uninhabitable. We decided we had no choice but to leave and look for another hotel, which was stressful given the limited availability in the area. About 30 minutes later, after we had packed up and my husband returned the keys, the general manager came out and suddenly offered another room. By this point, we had lost confidence in the hotel, especially since we had previously been told there were no other rooms available. We had read reviews before booking and were frankly shocked to see such a stark difference in the level of c

A little worn out, but great team to help make up

Pros: The staff were really kind and helpful. They made things very smooth. Breakfast delivery was a nice touch! Cons: our room was pretty worn out and perhaps had not received a design upgrade since the 90s. When evening came, it got chilly but the heater smelled pretty bad, so we did without. The bathroom doorknob wouldn't latch. Just lots of little things. The interiors would definitely benefit from a remodel. It's past time!

We enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach. The beach is really nice and the beds are very comfortable. The boxed breakfast was actually decent. I think I liked that more than the traditional breakfasts that the other chain hotels have. I would’ve rated SB 5 stars, if they were able to give us a voucher/refund for our last night’s stay. My girlfriend had recently went through surgery and we had to leave early due to complications. The hotel/Expedia were unable to provide any sort of refund. Considering the cost of the stay…something provided to me would’ve been better than nothing.
