Very nice property. Gated community with excellent staff. The pool area was very nice but there were no shaded areas unless you were using the dining services. Nice walking areas. Large 2- bedroom unit was a nice break from the small units we had at the large hotel chain facilities at the previous 3 islands that we stayed at.

We were told that we would have access to the Hilton Waikoloa Village pools and that was not the case. This was a Christmas present for my children and they were really looking forward to paddle boards, pedal bikes, swimming in those pools.

The property is immaculate. Top notch landscaping. The pool and private restaurant was fantastic. It is beautiful, especially at sunset. I wanted a better view at our unit and be able to hear the waves but this unit worked out fine for us since we were all over the island. The unit was clean and the bed was perfect for us.

Aloha!

Great resort. Spectacular views with golf course and lava rock beach walk to watch the waves. Beautiful grounds and great pool/hot tub! Only complaints are that the pool closes at 8pm nightly and you can't bring anything into the pool area (not even water or pool towels). They provide towels at the pool, but most nights we went, they were out of clean towels. Kitchens are well stocked with everything you need for a week.

Very nice property and the club amenities are great too. Especially for families with kids. The vacation rental had some nice touches to it and things that I could borrow to the beach with the kids.

The good and bad…. The grounds are gated & beautifully maintained. The pool area is inviting, with beautiful views, and great staff. Only complaint at the pool was NO UMBRELLAS to provide shade when lounging. The property is in a fabulous area with many amenities. The complex was quiet and peaceful. However, the unit itself was BEYOND disappointing!!! It was VERY outdated and very beat up! No care and upkeep has been put into it for a decade! Furniture is broken, bedspreads look like they haven’t been replaced for years, walls and baseboards were trashed, and carpet was old & worn. The main bedroom shower door didn’t shut properly, the oven wouldn’t close, dryer left residue all over our clothes, fridge didn’t get very cold, and dishwasher was SO LOUD. We were told not to put AC above 73, but even then it didn’t feel cool in the unit at night. There was a huge spiderweb with a spider in it under bar top counter. Pest control entered unit first full day on site which was odd. We had multiple roaches and a few other smaller bugs on the kitchen counter! Upon leaving, we were told to start dishwasher, empty and dispose of all our trash (including fridge) in the dumpster, and turn off AC. We paid a significant cleaning fee, so I’m not sure why we had to start the cleaning process. I would love to stay at this property again, but feel owners should take more pride in their units. A little attention would go a long way.

Missing parts!

Thw condos (three of them} a some nice amenities. Some did not. Oly one of the three bedroom had an outdoor BBQ, the other two had nothing. This is unacceptable for a property of this size an price!! Our unit had a strange feature. Although it had two sinks in the Master Bath, there was no hardware to fill (or empty) the sinks unless you reached under the sink in the cabinet below. I mean nothing! So whoever installed the sinks must have known there would be a problem here. I like Waikoloa but couldn't in good faith going back to this facility. The homw owners need to do somw owrk!

Hali’i Kai a quiet resort tucked into the Waikolo area. Its townhomes stretch from oceanfront, back to golf views. Watch for whales from its beautiful, family-friendly pool. Food and drink options, as well as a small gym are also located there. Our units furnishings were somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. A beach cooler, sand toys, and boogie boards were available for our use. If you’re looking for a smaller, more private resort, I’d definitely recommend Hali’i Kai

Loved the house and always love staying at the Hali Kai. The only thing that was not so great is taking trash to dumpster last night there were tons of rats running around the top and inside when we opened the lid. Not great!
