Summary: Welcome to our beautiful, ranch style home within walking distance of downtown Silver Spring and Sligo Park. Convenient proximity to DC and Baltimore. Light-filled, open-plan ground floor living-dining-kitchen area. Fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living-room with ample seating and large TV in the living room & one bedroom. Perfect for a small family, business travelers, or vacationers.

Stocked lite snacks and coffee, amenities are the standard here, along with office space, desk, and Wi-Fi. This home is set up to cater towards the traveling professional, a quiet home away from home or just a space to relax and connect with friends during your stay in the DC/Maryland area. There is an office desk and workspace in each room. We have extremely fast FiOS quantum gigabit wireless internet access.
The space listed is for a one floor, above ground, 1665 square ft. space that has been recently renovated (shared outdoor patio and grill and free reserved parking spot). The owner utilizes the basement space which has a separate entrance and is locked off from the above ground space listed.
Owner occupies the house when not rented.
Guest access:
The house is newly furnished and the main area includes a foyer with wall art, bench/rack for shoes and coats, and an umbrella stand. To the left you'll find a plush sofa with large down throw pillows and a comfortable sitting area with a 65" 4k Dolby vision Dolby sound Roku TV. The sofa easily converts to a comfortable queen bed to accommodate two guests. The two yellow lounge chairs each convert into sleeping cots to accommodate two smaller guests.
There is a modern dining room with seating for 8-10, a full kitchen with granite countertops (all cooking and dining materials with plate sets, flatware, glassware, pots/pans, toaster, cooking utensils, spices, condiments, cooking sauces, etc.).
There are top-of-the-line appliances with full French door Samsung refrigerator and freezer combo, Samsung dishwasher with special third rack for flatware and capacity for 12 dining sets, Samsung stove/oven and microwave, and LG stacked front loading washer/dryer combo that is extremely quiet. The washer and dryer have settings for every type of wash including steam/dry cleaning features. There is a Kitchen aid Mixer, burr coffee grinder, french press, and coffee machine.
The rental sleeps 6 adults comfortably with extra convertible sleeping sofas in the living area best suited for 4 younger guests. Each of the three bedrooms is similar in size and amenities with a queen size sturdy urban outfitter's solid wood platform bed with spring base mattress and memory foam top providing comfortable sleeping for 2 adult guests with soft high thread count sheets, luxury bedding, down comforter (down alternative available too). There are bright decorations, a workspace including CB2 industrial style desk and office chair, and closet with luggage cart in each room. There is also a linen closet in the hallway and a full bath with tub-shower combo, complete with body wash, shampoo and conditioner for use during your stay. We also provide guests with grey bathrobes for extra comfort. The entire bathroom was recently updated.
The rental is for the ENTIRE 1 floor rancher space, so you will have total privacy during your stay. The rental is best suited for any typical causal, family-friendly or professional quiet stays.
The rental is NOT suitable for parties or large gatherings, which are STRICTLY against the house rules, as noted in the listing. Guests are not permitted to rearrange the furniture without permission. We are in a quiet community with quiet neighbors who will be upset if they are disturbed by guests.
There is construction on the main road in front of the home so you may hear noise during the day.
The lower level is a separate private office space that is not included in the rental, with a separate private entrance, and is used by the homeowner.
Guest Access: The home comes with parking for (1) vehicle. Please park your vehicle directly in front of the house on the paved portion of the driveway in front of the steps. Please do not block the access to the back of the house. Additional parking can be found across the street at the school or in the metro parking garage.
The Neighborhood: Here, you will be just steps away from downtown Silver Spring, AFI Theatre and DC metro access, and within an easy commute or bike ride to Bethesda, NIH, Walter Reed, and University of Maryland College Park. The house is an easy commute (20-30 minutes) from downtown Washington DC and Baltimore. You can even travel to New York City on a 2 hour Acela train.
Getting Around: Silver Spring is safe and has numerous walking and biking paths and trails connecting multiple parks and green spaces. A car, scooter, or bike is helpful to travel quickly from place to place, but is not required and there is a Whole Foods along with various restaurants, CVS pharmacy, mall, and movie theatres within walking distance.
A variety of shopping is located within a few minute's walk. There is also access to a patio with a shared outdoor gas grill on the premises, and gardened areas outside the home (flowers, and vegetables/spices some years). Additional features include nearby Gym a Recreation Center where you can purchase day passes for an added fee during your stay.
Other things to note:
Additional features for a spa pass to Washington Sports Club and Long Branch Recreation Center are available for a small fee. Multiple providers of spa amenities are also available nearby and we can provide recommendations upon request. There are multiple nearby daycare centers (daily, weekly, monthly). The community also has biking/jogging paths that connect to scenic streams and historic parks.
Other Things to Note: There is large construction project to extend the metro line on the main road in front of the home so you may hear noise during the day.
