Everything was good with our room. However both nights we stayed there were people playing very loud music (bass) below our room by the BBQ area. I asked the front desk to get them to turn it down. Nothing happened, by this time I’m in my pjs not wanting to go down again. This went on very late. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep.

Family fun in Wausau

The place is a bit dated, but very clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a family gathering and were able to use their outdoor grill and breakfast area to eat and visit. The owner and his son even stopped after to see if we had a nice time, and visited with us. They appreciated we cleaned up after ourselves and tried to leave the room how we found it. The king suite was roomy, comfortable and so clean. We made use of all the space. We entertained some local family and they were welcomed as well. The bed and pillows were some of the cosiest we have experienced at a hotel in a long time. Hot breakfast has many options and was delicious. Again the staff was friendly, efficient and welcomed all. They had a full house, but the amazing staff was working hard to made sure everyone was taken care of. You might find a newer fancier hotel in the area, but you likely will not find one cleaner, well organized, with a hot breakfast and hard working staff. We would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at Best Western Plus, and while the property itself had much to offer such as a swimming pool and hot tub, my overall experience was shaped by two very different individuals representing the hotel’s leadership. First, I want to commend the General Manager, who was absolutely phenomenal. From check-in to check-out, the GM demonstrated professionalism, warmth, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. It was clear she was doing everything possible to maintain a welcoming environment and handle issues swiftly and respectfully. Her leadership and hospitality were top-notch, and she was a bright spot throughout my stay. Unfortunately, my experience was severely tarnished by interactions with the owner’s son, who presented himself as the owner and created a hostile and deeply unprofessional atmosphere. He was confrontational, dismissive, and shockingly inappropriate—using profane and abusive language toward customers, myself included. When I requested to speak with the actual owner, he refused to connect me, insisting that he was in charge. His behavior was completely unacceptable and did not reflect the values or image of the hotel as conveyed by the rest of the staff. Pros:hot breakfast, air conditioner worked great, kitchenette, pet friendly and great pet area with doggie bags provided. Cons: parking is tight due to the amount of construction workers staying at the hotel, hot tub was constantly occupied with men drinking alcohol and partying.

Room was clean and comfortable. The coffee machine in the lobby had some of the best coffee I have ever had at a hotel , excellent ! Breakfast and selection was way above average. We will definitely stay here again when we travel from Michigan to Wisconsin to visit relatives.

The hard floors in the bathroom & kitchen were sticky (kind of gross). The toilet barley flushed. The rating for this Best Western was "excellent".... the truth is, it was below average. I probably would not consider staying here again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Our room had a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and 2 burner stove. It had dishes, pots and silverware. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The complementary hot breakfast was fantastic! We would definitely stay here again!

More than satisfactory!

Very clean, comfortable stay. The employees were fantastic. Check in was easy and everything as more than satisfactory. We had some trouble with our key cards not working, but the employees were quick to reset them. The breakfast was very good; not just cereal and toast. There were eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes and many bread options. My husband and I were very pleased with our stay.
