Hidden Gem

This is a beautiful hotel. I feel like it is almost a hidden gem. I do with the bar served liquor but the wine we had was good. Then you have Sally the cat who is the sweetest plus her story is such a sweet one!!!

This is a charming hotel. We went during the Christmas season and it was decorated so beautifully inside and out. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Very disappointed

I have stayed in this hotel perhaps ten times, most recently four years ago. It was always a treat architecturally, historically and a class act. This time it was a big disappointment. The live jazz was gone. The room was too hot and the wall thermostat did little to rectify it. I slept on top of the covers and it was a long night. The shower got to lukewarm, as did the sink. The shower rod was hung at an angle so the curtain slid to the center. The lamps were all 3-way but only had dim single filament bulbs, so reading was difficult. The breakfast biscuits were hard and impossible to cut with a fork. This was my favorite W-S hotel but this time I was happy to leave.

Overall, enjoyed my stay

Satisfied with my one-night stay, alhough the room was a little cool. The temp outside was frigid and since the ceilings inside are so high, it's hard to properly heat the room. I'm sure during normal weather conditions the room temperature is fine. Our room was at the end of the hall closest to an exterior door, so we parked right outside our room. However, the card reader did not work at that door so we had to find a reader that worked. After going to the third card reader, we were able to enter the building. This was quite frustrating since it was so cold outside. Overall, however, I enjoyed the layout and generous size of the room. I would stay here again.

While the service at the hotel was excellent and warm, many details of our room ranged from bizarre to unacceptable. I found a few stray hairs on my unused pillow, there were rings of mildew around the bathtub faucet, and our room’s alarm clock (which we had never touched) went off at 5 AM. Additionally, the elevator and snack machine were both broken. Poor value for the price of our stay —

The hotel was far above our expectations! A complimentary wine and cheese social at the lounge was such a surprise - as was the cookies and milk later in the evening. Our room was huge and well appointed. My husband and I will definitely return for a stay at the beautiful Brookstown Inn.

We really enjoyed the wine & cheese social from 5-7 and the cookies & milk from 8-9. The southern breakfast was hearty and delicious (biscuits and sausage gravy are my favorite). Our room was amazing. Two levels and very spacious. The staff and atmosphere were so welcoming. We can’t wait to come back.
