We had a great stay and it was mainly due to the location and most of the staff . We could walk to many areas and also well connected to transportation. In general we were welcomed with a friendly smile and very helpful staff. I would normally give 5 stars for service except for the fact that the some of the staff at breakfast from Tuesday till our departure on Friday seemed unhappy and at times. One was even banging the covering for the buffet and coffee station. It’s was very off putting. Specially since it seemed he was unhappy about being asked for milk.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is very central and all the museums are within walking distance. It is right next to the tram line and it’s easy to get to locations that are farther away. I loved the decoration of the hotel, especially the staircases! Rooms are big and clean. I enjoyed having a sink in the bathroom and another one in the hall. It’s somewhat noisy due to the central location. It would be nice if ear plugs or noise cancelling machines would be available or standard with the room. I did use the white noise on my phone a lot. Overall, great facility.

Had an excellent experience here. Rooms were lovely and staff friendly and efficient. We upgraded our room to accommodate our daughter and when we checked out they said not to worry about the extra charge for the larger room. Highly recommend to anyone.

Had an excellent stay at the Clayton Amsterdam. Very convenient location - short walk to the museums and Vondelpark plus many tram routes stopped right in front of the hotel making for easy run to the Dam and the floating flower market. Clean room, and very good breakfast buffet to start your day. The concierge was very helpful.

Wonderful location next to the canal. Brief walk to the museums like Van Gogh, Moco, Rijks. Close to tram lines that will take you to the other city attractions. Around there are a gazillion lovely eateries. This mid-century modern charming facility with stain glass windows in the restaurant serving excellent food and cocktails made our Amsterdam 8 day stay relaxing. Their concierge is helpful. The staff gave us free drinks and appetizers to make up for a shortcoming in our room--we appreciated the gesture. Overall, I will definitely chose this hotel for future Amsterdam visits,

I stayed in Clayton Hotel, the exterior of the building is historic, but the inside is very modern and maintained well. I took one star off on service as the staffs at the buffet restaurant are kind of impatient, I waited 45 minutes for my omelette, after all. Think they are understaffed at the restaurant. One waitress was screaming at another one publicly when they got busy. Anyway, it’s a great stay after all
