I booked thru Expedia several weeks ago for a 3 night stay, in a double room. It was myself (adult) and my adult brother traveling. When we arrived there was a line of people wanting to check in (10-12 groups) By ease drop we could tell something was wrong with check in with the people ahead of us. When it was our turn, we were told there was a Maintenance Issue and that we were being sent to a different hotel (Sonesta) for the one night. And to return the next day to check into The Viv, tho they could not guarantee the issue would be fixed. First, the Sonesta is less per night and rated at an 8 on expedia. (My search for hotel was 9 and above) No compensation for the lesser cost of room and lower hotel rating was being given (I asked) Second, the new hotel was a single queen (i booked a double) Third, they wanted me to take time out of my day, the next day, to check out of the sonesta, and come back to the Viv to chance that they had a room. I was on a SHORT WEEKEND VACAY. I realize things happen, but the hotel switch should have been equal or better. I mentioned this and was told ‘everything else is booked….we checked’. When in fact, this was not true. But long story; we moved hotels on our own to Marriott Convention center, 10/10 !! Worst part about Viv experience is Manager was weak in leadership leaving it to 2 front desk workers; and not confronting issue in person.

Parking fee is mind blowing, would have been nice to have a $$ amount ahead of time not just a small print note that says there is fees to park. Breakfast was suppose to be included according to my booking through expedia, Expedia messed that up but The Viv front desk came through with vouchers. I havent seen my final bill yet. Overall it was a nice place with good food and nice (shallow) pools.

Our stay at The Viv Hotel in Anaheim was a huge disappointment. The surrounding area felt sketchy and unsafe, and my family was genuinely uncomfortable being outside the hotel. Not what you expect when booking a place near Disneyland. The shuttle service was a joke — it’s advertised to run every 30 minutes, but we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes with young kids. No communication. The front desk staff seemed completely uninterested in helping or even acknowledging guests. On top of that, our room was not clean — surfaces were dusty, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been properly sanitized. To make matters worse, there were hidden fees added to our bill that were never disclosed during booking. Between the lack of service, poor cleanliness, and safety concerns, this hotel was a total letdown. We won’t be back and don’t recommend it — especially for families.

Great hotel. Clean, modern, comfortable and always great customer service. Location is easy and convenient - close to Disneyland and Angels field. We loved watching the Disney fireworks from the rooftop hot tub.

This is the second time im staying at The Viv and both times the front desk staff are very unfriendly. They never explain of the amenities available at the hotel or have a welcoming attitude. For example when I checked in, they just asked for my last name for the reservation and a credit card to have on file and just handed the room key. No information about the amenities, the restaurant or the check out time was given. He never told us that there would be a resort fee! I only found out at the check out!! The person that checked me in was more interested about the conversation he was having with his coworker before he had to help me. The next day, when we asked the front desk about the shuttle to Disneyland, same experience. When we asked the lady at front, she had a very cold demeanor. She just said that we had to get tickets through an app. We had to asked around from other people staying at the hotel about how to navigate the app, what bus we had to select, etc. overall very disappointing.

This hotel was nice. The rooms are nice and tidy and clean. The front desk was always available. The only thing I wish they would have told me upfront, which was not a big deal anyways. They had a $25 charge per day. The good news is that if you spend $25 a day in food expenses at two of their restaurants it will credit back $25. Essentially if you spend $25 at the restaurant and charge it to your room they deducted the $25 charge so it’s like you spent the 25 on food. Just not happy that they forced you to spend $25 a day at their hotel.
