Beautiful, but...

The views and location at this cabin are stunning. We got lucky with a snowstorm, and the sloped driveway made for an awesome slope to sled down for our 4 year old. Walks to the Lake everyday to see the ducks was lovely. While the cabin was tidy, it was not very clean. Dust and spiderwebs found in every corner and under every furniture. The pantry is basically empty so bring literally everything including cooking oil if you plan on cooking. Also, don't expect any firewood to get you started on your first night. This place is managed by a local company that has many properties so it's bare bones in terms of amenities. Our biggest issue was the master bath leaks scalding hot water from the hot water valve, and not just a drip. My kid got a small burn on his foot from it before we realized, after that we tied a towel around it so it would drip. We also had our 10 month old baby with us, so this was very upsetting. When I tried to reach out to the management about this, I couldn't get through on the phone and they only responded to my message here with "management will reach out to you in 1-5 business days" They never did. We paid top price for this cabin because we went during the holiday, and I feel so ripped off. If you can rent this place at a lower price, it's probably worth it, but be careful if you have small children and ask if they have fixed that master bath. Also the laundry is in the house, it's behind a door that blends very much into the wall, took us a couple of days to notice it.

Great location right on lake. Plenty of privacy with lots windows to take in the view. Cozy, comfortable, great kitchen appliances, clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Will come again.

Great Lake front stay.

Very, very nice place. Very well stocked with all you need. Excellent, quiet lake front location and views. Home is comfortable in most every way possible, loved the instant hot water throughout and the fact that all the dishes or household items I needed were there. A couple of suggestions, The property description should be update regarding laundry facilities, none are accessible in the property by the renter. Need to replace the shower head in your 3/4 bath shower, there was zero pressure. Main downside was the beds. The mattresses in the master bed and secondary bed were far too soft, an upgrade of mattresses and fixing that shower would make this place a real 5 star. I will be very likely to stay there again.

Beautiful Views & Comfortable Home

The pictures do not do this home justice. The views are beautiful, the home is comfortable, and the location is ideal. We stayed with one other family and the bedroom situation was perfect. Two adults in the master (gorgeous views), two adults in the queen bedroom, and put the three kids in the room with twins and trundle bed (they loved having the Wii in this room). We cooked all our meals at home, ate out on the deck taking in the views, and played horseshoes and miniature golf in the yard until the sun went down. It was ideal to have our own dock and we spent time out there fishing and swimming everyday. We went on walks in the neighborhood, rented boats at the marina (about 3 minutes away), and drove into town (about 5 minutes away) for activities and shopping. Big Bear Destinations was the management company and they were very easy to work with, attentive to our requests, and had the home ready for us when promised. This was our first time to Big Bear and we will definitely be back!
