The older lady at the desk didnt welcomeus nor did she introduce herself. During our check in another guest had to come to the office to ask for toilet paper. On the website it also says that the pool is open from May 1st through Sept. It was not open for swimming or lounging. On top of that one of the housekeepers was standing outside of a room with the door open smoking with came into our room. Staff should have a designated smoking area not near a non smoking room. Hopefully these concerns will be looked at and improved on. The room was clean and stocked with the necessities.

This is a very big, clean, affordable, and convenient place to stay if you are visiting Carlsbad Caverns. It’s only 7 miles from the Visitor Center. The thing you need to keep in mind is you have very limited dining options near the motel. So eat in the town of Carlsbad before you arrive or bring food with you. Or you’ll have to drive 40 miles round trip to get food and get back to the motel. Would recommend.

Spacious room, comfortable beds, very convenient to Carlsbad Caverns, friendly staff, great price. Only downside is you need to drive to Carlsbad for dinner, as there is only 1 restaurant in Whites City which is open for breakfast and lunch.

Location, Location, Location

This hotel was just what I expected based on other reviews. The location to the national park is ideal if that is why you are there. If you have kids, the pool/water attraction (when open) would also be a major incentive for staying there. It is a dated hotel with basic and a bit shabby room, but was fine. They do have microwave and little fridge and some picnic tables out front which is nice. The free"breakfast " is nothing more than decent coffee (get your own cream if you like that) and boxes of sugared cereals and packaged pastries. Probably not bad if you have kids, but nothing I'd want to eat. Overall I'd definitely stay again for the location and decent accommodations, but would not expect much more.
