The facility in under construction and parts of the hotel are inaccessible. The walls are thin and heard neighbors throught the night and activity outside. Lots of commotion in the parking lot and fighting in the early morning hours. Bathroom door jad water damage and toilet difficult to flush/continuously ran. All staff were very pleasant when interacted with. The experience overall wasn't pleasant with children, they were concerned about the yelling amd doors slamming. Several police vehicles ended up in the parking lot with lights flashing.

The staff was nice but all in all better maintenance of this hotel is needed. As soon as I checked in there was a leak from the lobby roof. The pool and hot tub were under remodeling, that is one of the main reasons why I booked with them. As for the room, the floorboards were squeaky and some were loose. Sloppy paint job through out the room, and the shower door leaked on to the floor. At about730 am I was woken up to construction noise in the hotel and the fire alarm went off. I am dissatisfied with my stay.

I checked into this hotel and was given a room on the main level that looked out into the parking lot. The parking lot is shared with an extended stay hotel, which is where a lot of people on the verge of homelessness were staying. People were loitering in the parking lot all afternoon and evening, some cars would come and stay for only a few minutes and then leave, there were homeless people with all their belongings living in the bushes next to that hotel. All of these things made me feel uneasy and then I realized my window did not have a lock on it. I called the front desk and the employee came down and said that was odd, but maintenance had left for the evening. He was going to find a dowel rod or something similar to put in the window so it wouldn’t be able to open from the outside. Traveling alone as a woman, I did not feel comfortable with this and ended up moving hotels. I stayed at a hotel one block over that was owned by the same company that owns the Wingate. My experience there was fabulous. The manager from Wingate called me the next morning and apologized for the lack of security in my room and said he refunded hotels.com for me and that I would be able to get a refund thru them. I appreciated this very much. I did not feel safe at that hotel. When I returned home and contacted hotels.com they had not received the refund. They reached out to Wingate and were told it was a nonrefundable booking. So the manager never refunded the room at all.
