The Academy Hotel Colorado Springs

"I have stayed here several times over the past two years. Always had an exceptional experience until this time. I went to check in at 1 and told them I didn't care if my room was ready. I just wanted to swim in the pool. I have done this same routine every time. The desk clerk was very snotty. "Check-in isn't until 4. We have an early check-in fee."
I apologized and told her that her I wasn't aware of the new policy. "You need to come back at four!" I came back at 430 and had six people in line ahead of me, with only one desk clerk. Took me 25 minutes to check in!
Yesterday morning, at 9 am,
(checkout is at 11) Housekeeping knocked on my door. The woman barely spoke English and asked, "You leave when?" I understand people want to plan, but that isn't the right way to handle either situation! A little politeness goes a long way. After that experience, I am reconsidering my next planned stay there.
