Dirty carpets (and, in some parts, it looked like it has never been cleaned), beds that barely fit a single person, a bathroom the size of those in RVs, paints chipped off at many places, a bathtub faucet that does not fully open, a bathtub that leaks water into the floor. It is among, if not the, worst hotel stays I have experienced in 30+ years (and those includes hotels in many third world countries). In summary: motor inn class accommodation, Ritz-Carlton class price. (Although, to be fair, the heart-of-Downtown-LA drives the price of anything high)

the Biltmore is reasonably priced for downtown LA and is wonderfully located near everything we wanted to do: museums, concert venues, good restaurants

Room was clean and comfortable. I loved the age of the building and it's history, discovering a hallway with photos from bygone days was a thrill. But the terrific staff was the highlight. Friendly and helpful.
