Monterey Marriott is a very nice hotel. It was clean, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. But the price is a little bit higher than I expected in comparison to the total package. Plus the $39.00 parking fee per vehicle on top of the cost of the room. Now maybe I am wrong, but I don’t recall seeing a parking fee in the description on Expedia. If I missed it, my apologies. The other item that disturbed me is the pillows. These pillows were small and very thin. Even stacking two would not equal one normal pillow. Now some will say that this is being somewhat petty, Yet if you are paying really good money for a room, you expect the room to have exceptional amenities. Beyond the previous two items, it’s a really nice place. The beds are firm and comfortable. The sheets are of a good quality. The TV is modern technology with internet capabilities. The towels were fluffy and soft. The bathroom lighting is ok. I wish it was a little brighter. It had one of those wall mirrors with the lights built into it. And the surroundings are walking distance to downtown and the ocean. Now that convenience is what you are mostly paying for. All in all, it is a nice place to stay.
