My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It is a lovely classic hotel that is super clean. What I enjoyed most was that our whole experience seemed like a step back in time...very romantic. The location was in walking distance to restaurants and the light free breakfast was great. There's a 24 hour coffee bar...the room does not have it's own coffee maker. The staff is amazing and so very friendly. I can't wait to take another weekend trip with my husband.

Delightful stay in a historic property with beautiful architecture and decor! The included breakfast was lovely. My room was a bit noisy, between traffic and old-building-sounds, so I recommend bringing ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. The room came with robes, which I wasn’t expecting and was a nice touch that made the stay feel more luxurious. Parking was easy to find just a couple blocks away,

A vintage hotel for better or worse

A vintage hotel which was clean and comfortable. The windows rattle and are drafty. There is street noise. The shower is archaic.

They had a mini fridge with a few waters and you could ask for a few more. Breakfast had pretty much all carbs and no protein. I did enjoy my waffle, fresh orange juice and coffee. I forgot my toothbrush and they gave me a cute toothpaste with brush. The employees were super friendly. Safe area and can walk around. Would stay again.

Beautiful building, albeit a bit old (mostly fine but the elevator was quite slow and the claw footed bathtub/shower was a bit awkward to use). Room was spacious and very clean. We'd ended up booking the two nights we stayed separately and the staff were very helpful with combining the two stays so we wouldn't have to check out and then back in again, and they were also able to hold our luggage after we checked out (we had a very late flight out and it would have been a pain to haul our bags around all day). We did find the area around the hotel to be a little bit sketchy, but not to the extent that we felt like we were in serious danger even walking around late at night, and it may be that it's pretty typical for the city. We didn't end up taking advantage of it but they did offer free breakfast in the morning and had a Keurig machine in the lobby that was free to use, as well as what looked like a decent bar. Overall it was a good place to stay, especially considering the relatively low price.

It's an older historic property and has alot of charactor. It's located in a nice area of town and walkable to shops, parks, cable car, and a Whole Foods nearby. I suggest one of the suites as the standard rooms are a bit small. Traffic noise is typical of city life. Lite breakfest was included and overall a good value for a place to stay in San Francisco.

The hotel was beautiful and smelled like fresh linens when you walked in. There was a mix up with Expedia and our reservation and they fixed it and upgraded us to a gorgeous king suite. Maria at the front desk was very helpful and on top of things. I would’ve liked a bit more of variety for the breakfast, but overall it was fine.
