Our stay was ok. The house was cute, but the kitchen not well stocked. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. The dining area was perfect for eating and playing games. The WiFi was fine, but we had absolutely no cell service. The area was nice, but we weren’t able to enjoy the outside of the property much. The lawn, walkway and under deck area were overgrown and not well maintained. The outside deck wasn’t well maintained either and the firepit was over grown with grass. Walks along the C&O Canal were nice and if you have kayaks or other watercraft, there is easy access. The towpath along the canal was great for walking and is also great for biking. So if you have either you may want to bring them. There was no guestbook so we couldn’t learn about fun places to visit from previous guests or leave ideas for future guests. Antietam is so close and a great walk through history. There is Nutter’s Ice Cream in Sharpsburg and Shepardstowm, only 15 minutes away, is a cute little town that is worth visiting. And of course, Harper’s Ferry is awesome and only 30 minutes away. Overall the house was ok and allowed us to spend a little family time and take in local sights.
