Hard Rock Hangover
This is a hastily re-branded Hard Rock Cafe hotel, to the point where most decor is still rock-inspired. The lobby still smells like fish due to the oyster bar in the casino.
The hotel only has central heating/cooling, so you cannot adjust the temperature. After being soaking wet from skiing in a rain, it would have been nice to warm myself up, but 67 degrees in the room didn't help. They have a posted sign to call them so that they can bring a space heater if you're cold but the reception is not responding and once I walked down there to ask for it, they brought blankets instead..
The room is uncomfortable and poorly furnished, as it lacks a table / desk, not to mention a fridge, microwave or a kettle. Other than a coffee express (that makes a terrible coffee), they have water bottles for which they charge $2!
The hotel is located about 10 min walk from the gondola (which is not great in full equipment) and also lacks any amenities useful for skiing at Heavenly such as snow equipment storage, shuttle to the gondola etc.
They advertise having EV chargers, but these are old gen Tesla-only Superchargers, so if you have a different brand (even with a NACS adapter), you're out of luck. The garage has very low clearance, so a heavy duty truck might not make it inside.
Honestly, it's hard to find any positives about that place. I guess the king bed was fairly comfortable, the room was reasonably spacious, the location is OK and they have an on-site Avis, but that's it.
