Part of a small group of cheerful properties which can be booked together by larger groups, this charming retreat makes a fantastic base for couples and families discovering the quaint villages, breathtaking countryside and historic sites of a spellbinding corner of North Yorkshire. The cottage lies just a mile from the picturesque village of Crakehall with its friendly pub and large central green. Home to some fascinating historic sites, the Georgian town of Richmond is to the north (10.5 miles) and the bustling town of Bedale to the south (2.5 miles), known for its weekly market, enticing craft and antique shops and the popular Big Sheep and Little Cow Farm. Nidderdale, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are all within 15 miles, with local attractions including Jervaulx Abbey, Constable Burton Hall and Gardens, Harmby Waterfall, the ruins of Middleham Castle, and the Forbidden Corner all within 7 miles.
Entering this delightful hideaway, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides an ideal spot for you all to get together and unwind after a great day out. The welcoming lounge has flagstone flooring, a Smart TV and a lovely wood burner, perfect for relaxing in front of following a hearty meal around the dining table over in the corner. The sleek and beautifully organised kitchen has a wealth of equipment for rustling up family feasts. When it’s time to turn in for the night, you will have a choice of two fresh and cosy bedrooms, each with French doors opening out onto the patio: there’s a bright and stylish king-size room and a cheerful twin. The accommodation is rounded off with an elegant, beautifully tiled wet room with a shower and WC.
Heading outside, the open courtyard has a charming patio with outdoor furniture, offering a relaxing spot for a BBQ or a morning coffee. The property also offers access to a shared grassy area, enclosed paddock and drying room. There’s shared bike storage space, and allocated parking for 2 cars.
