Check in was fine, room was a good size if a little tired, being on the side of the car park there was road noise so ear plugs useful. Shower was small but was fine for what I needed. Car park is huge & suitable for those with large vans, with it being a reasonable distance from the NEC a good place for traders. Pub next door which I didn't use but was clean & tidy. Everything was perfectly adequate for what I required.
A big room- felt like someone stolen 1/2 the furniture - acres of carpet, but nothing except a desk & 2 bedside tables- soulless and cold feeli it appeared to be clean and the bed linen was clean & relatively new. The toilet and basin were clean. However, tops of tiles were thick with dust. outside corners of shower tray were dirty and mouldy. Shower head lots of limescale. when I went to make a coffee this morning the kettle had bits of black sitting in the bottom of it I swilled it out 3 times there was still bits of fine black soil looking dirt. I gave up trying to have a coffee/ when I went to use it this morning, there was no cover on the shower trap and the opening and rim were grubby and dirty what made it even worse was when I was sharing there was something floating and bouncing around inside the shower tray drain
At checkout I pointed out the issues and tried to show them photos I've taken, but they were really not interested. They simply said that oh well, when you stay next time, maybe we can do something. I had a meeting to get to so I had to just leave. A bit later I rang and finally got to speak to the assistant manager. No real apology simply you should've told us last night and we could've moved your room even when I pointed out that I didn't use the kettle or the shower till this morning. I rang the phone number on their parent company Facebook. Someone went hello hello and hung up. I've emailed & messaged. No response hence I have reviewed

Very friendly staff, reasonably priced, with a good menu of fairly priced options. I stayed whilst traveling with work and found the location to be great value and facilities for my stay.
Clean room and bedding, lovely staff, tasty food and happy hour!

Staff are lovely-friendly helpful and attentive.
The rooms are clean with expected amenities and was very warm on a cold night. It was also quiet.
Its a good basic hotel and reasonably priced.
I couldn’t sleep as the floors are so creaky and it seemed someone above was tiptoeing the whole night .
I don’t understand why a full breakfast wouldn’t have coffee/tea included in it
