On arrival, car park was completely full ( due to an event as later found out) so had to park a fair way down the road until on site car park emptied later Even though reception was very busy, check in was quick and easy, though damage deposit appeared to have put 2 separate ‘holds’ of £50 on my CC. Room was nice, clean with a good shower. Quiet overnight. Only real let down was in checkout. I queried whether I had had a VIP uprade as a platinum member as. I ‘wrongly’ assumed that this was automatic, but was told that I hadn’t , and that [with a laugh from the staff member] would be applied on next visit! This just took the edge off a decent stay up to that point.

Had we been aware of your boyfriends requirements prior to arrival we would have ensured the room allocated would be suitable or we would have advised if there was no availability of this room type. Amazing hotel and room, staff were very helpful

Got to hotel and room wasn't ready, the staff sat us in bar with free drink until it was sorted, got to room which was amazing

Weekend with friends

Stayed at this hotel for one night. I'm afraid this hotel is very tired and in need of refurbishment particularly the bathrooms. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely. But it's not a place I would want to stay again.

Great hotel

We stayed here for 1 night got v festival. Great hotel. Lovely and clean. Staff were really helpful and breakfast was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Very Good [Even Better With Warm/Hot Plates & Coffee!]

Excellent value with a wonderful interior, if you weren't in the small, modern rooms. The ploughman's platter was the best we've ever had - very inventive with a traditional fare. Breakfast food in the historic hall was very good, but had a weird moment, along with other guests, when we picked up our straight-out-the-fridge, complete with condensation, plates! Whoever thought of having COLD plates? It can't be for health&safety reasons because the food is in very hot containers and the toaster is open for anyone to burn themselves on! This has been the case for some time and so I suggest guests leave their plates on the toaster to warm up.

J'avais choisi cet hôtel pour sa situation géographique: le plus près de la maison de ma famille, le but de mon voyage. Tout le personnel de cet hôtel est génial: gentil, serviable, poli. La chambre: rien à dire. 10 sur 10. Un petit bémol: le bain se remplit vite, la douche n'a pas assez de pression. Quand on doit partir avant l'heure du petit- déjeuner, vous n'en aurez pas. Heureusement il y a un plateau bouilloire électrique dans la chambre!
