Lovely

The highfield was a lovely stay. Big, very clean room. A hairdryer almost as old as me however, and not much in the way of extra's. Coffee, tea, biscuits etc. But thats a very small minor on an overall lovely stay. Breakfast and the staff were amazing 👏

Could not fault the place, lovely comfortable room, friendly warm staff, great breakfast, nice facilities. And WOW to the Thai restaurant, such amazing food and service! A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny!! Would definitely recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Used Highfield many times. Always reliable with super staff. Room was big and warm with giant comfy bed. Just be aware that road noise from the A690 is constant unless you’re in the odd-numbered rooms, as they are at the back of the hotel and are super quiet.

Lovely attentive staff, bar and restaurant busy but atmospheric which was lovely, food good. Hotel room ok, so hot couldn't sleep had to turn Radiators down and open the window, but then we heard the noise of the traffic unfortunately both my husband and I hardly slept! 6 am someone was emptying bottles into the recycling bins which woke us up yet again, never managed to get off again.

Great place to stay

The hotel is well situated from Durham city, about 10-15 minutes drive to either The Riverwalk or Walkergate very central car parks. The family room (3 people) was comfortable, cleaned every day and spacious. The hotel has a great Thai restaurant and pub/bar (food and drinks in both areas, affordable prices). The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
