Convenient location. The bed was good but could have been better, especially for a couple. The bathroom is basic. Staff was excellent though. The hotel does not have dedicated parking so finding a slot is tricky

Great choice for location and convenience

Well-located in the Harbor District, very close to a bus stop and within easy walking distance to Harpa, restaurants, museums, shopping areas and other attractions. Very courteous and helpful staff. Good variety of breakfast items, and convenient bar and food service if one wishes to stay in.

Could do better!

I was in Iceland for business, but also had a couple of days to explore. I love Iceland, it’s a truly amazing place. The hotel is tired and basic. The room is particularly small, whilst it has great views over the harbour, slightly impeded by the whaling ship. In the room there’s little space to store your belongings. Beds were very comfortable. I’m coeliac so the included breakfast option was particularly poor, staff were not trained on cross contamination or allergies. The sliced bread offered,,wasn’t toasted and the worst kind of gluten-free bread, dry as dry. Much of the buffet was a cross contamination nightmare. Placement of breads next door to sliced meats and cheeses, no allergen labelling. The breakfast offer needs a 2025 update, “could do better” is what I would say. Staff were not particularly warm, in any area.

Ok overall

The hotel is nice overall. Small rooms but bed is comfortable. They use l'occitane products which i love. Receptionist were average.The restaurant was good and waitresses were very good. No room service. There is no on site laundry. The view is nice. My biggest complaint. Tv..No smart tv to even log in to Netflix or cast at at all. Very basic channels with 2 of those being in Japanese with no subtitles. Ended up watching on my phone, which i do not typically do. I would stst more in the downtown area with a little more modern convenience

Really enjoyed our stay, everything was easy from check in to check out. Very quirky with so many comrortable lounge rooms, statues dotted around the place. Easy access to downtown bars and restaurants, and pick up for tours just outside the hotel. Would stay again!

Lovely hotel

We stayed at the Marina hotel for a long weekend in February/March. It was super cold outside and toasty warm in the hotel. I even had to turn our radiator off and open a window through the night. The balcony was awesome and looked out over the harbour which was fab. The lounge area and library is amazing and great to sit and read or just take in the ambience with a drink or a coffee.

Lovely hotel overlooking the old harbour in Rekyavik. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the harbour and hills. In fairness our view was taken up by a boat, picture below but it is a working harbour. That said it doesn’t spoil the hill views. The room was a little small, as others have said. But all mod cons were there including a fridge and safe. The bathroom was lovely. Again small, wet room style but fantastic shower and difficult to find any fault. The hotel is modern. Lovely public areas. Staff we encountered were all lovely. The area around the old harbour has a plethora of restaurants, all different cuisines. We especially loved Himalayan Spice. The balcony was a nice twist, ok too cold for February but in the summer it would be cracking to sit out there with a wine and relax. Highly recommended hotel in great location. City centre not even 10 minutes walk away.

I dont have any bad wprds tp.say about this hotel, from the minute we arrived the staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The amenities were top notch, the buffet breakfast was perfect, although iceland is known for its expensive food, the breakfast was well worth it. We were in a deluxe room, and i couldnt have been happier with our choice, the view over the marina and the distant mountains were breathtaking. I could up to that view every day and never get bored.

Convenient for the harbour and walking distance to the city centre. Bus stop 1 minute walk away to be picked up for tours and airport transfer. Hotel is part of a group of hotels with very good food and drink facilities and beds are very comfortable.
