We had a great stay. When we called for anything we needed whether it be ice or an ironing board, the staff was quick and friendly. The breakfast is worth the adding. It was only my daughter and I, but we both thought it was worth it, convenient and delicious.

This was a great find and extremely central. The shops were on the doorsteps and an enjoyable walk to some of the tourist attractions. Very nice loony and small rooftop pool area, but was perfect to cool down and see a great skyline view of the city.

My partner and I recently stayed at El Avenida Palace Hotel for two nights and unfortunately our experience was disappointing especially given the hotel’s high ratings and advertised amenities. We chose this hotel because it offered air conditioning a feature not guaranteed in all European hotels. Unfortunately, this was the biggest issue of our stay. We checked in late and immediately noticed the AC was not working properly. It was uncomfortably warm so we informed the front desk the next morning. They advised us to give it more time though the room had been occupied for hours. The issue persisted. Before leaving for the day we again reported the problem and were told it would be addressed. However when we returned late that night nothing had changed. We spent another night in a stuffy uncomfortable room. When we called again we were told the AC had been checked and needed more time clearly no real action was taken. At checkout I raised the issue again and was asked to wait for the manager. After 15 minutes I met Begoña de Beascoa, Guest Relations, who told us there would be no compensation claiming we had not reported the problem early enough despite multiple reports. Expedia confirmed the hotel refused any compensation. To make matters worse the delay caused us to miss our taxi adding extra charges. Despite repeated complaints staff said no record existed. The hotel’s lack of accountability left us feeling ignored. We will not return and cannot recommend this hotel.

The service was excellent to include room service. The top deck with a pool is very nice to wind down after a day of sightseeing and shopping before going out again at night for dinner. The restaurant food was very good as well. The bar staff on the rooftop were also very friendly and the service was excellent. My only complaint is that we don’t drink alcohol so we ordered mocktails which were the same price as a cocktail. Alcohol is expensive and the most expensive ingredient in a drink so charging full price for an alcohol drink with no alcohol I thought was not fair.

Barcelona Fsmily Trip

This was our splurge hotel on a 10 day trip to Spain and it was worth every penny! Great location! Close to Las Rambalas but out of the chaos. We stayed in one of the renovated wings and everything was top-notch. Spacious rooms, great AC, luxurious bath product, super comfy beds, etc. The breakfast was really nice, tons of great healthy options. Truly loved this hotel! Would stay here again and recommend it to all my friends!

We were in #307 in a redone portion of the hotel (card key, not physical keys). They did not receive Expedia requests for two beds (this has happened with other hotels). Housekeeping came late in the day and wouldn’t enter if we were there, so we often missed getting room changed. The room needs a deep clean. There was a lot of grime around the handicap bars on the shower and a lot of the grout has started turning black (especially under towel hooks). The tub shower door was missing the bottom seal so lots of water on the floor.
