Tv remote was disgustingly cruddy and broke as was the TV. No electricity in the vanity area and bathroom therefore no hairdryer and no lighting in either the toilet/shower or sink. Bed covers were not adequately cleaned and the occupants next door had a dog that barked incessantly - whose owners bounced a ball against the wall most of the night for the dog’s entertainment. I recommend earplugs and a flashlight and maybe some pepper spray.

The best thing about this motel is that it is located just several blocks from Carlsbad village, has ample parking, and is a low cost alternative. This is a motel that has good size rooms, nice tv, microwave, table and refrigerator. Condition is a bit worn but acceptable for the price paid. The Carlsbad train station is very close so there is noise from passing trains sometimes loud at night.

Room was clean and looked just like the pictures. Shower took a while to heat up but once it did, was able to remain hot. Decent water pressure. Towels were a bit scratchy and thin but are adequate. TV is not a smart TV and the bed is old box spring style but I suppose that's to be expected for room rate. Heater was a bit loud but worked fine (didnt use AC). Fridge and microwave also worked fine. Parking lot can get full so keep that in mind depending when you arrive. I was able to find street parking though. . All in all, a decent stay for the price

Your near the beach so there's plenty of dining options nearby. The room was very nice plus I found the bed comfortable. The room even had a 4 burner stove that I didn't use. Sadly, it rained so I glad my room was enjoyable.
