Good choice for beach stay

Excellent waterfront rooms. I was able to upgrade for 4 nights of my stay. But unrenovated rooms are substandard and not recommended. Excellent location. Walking distance to center of town and many good restaurants.

While this property is convenient, many of the rooms are not updated. We had 3 rooms for this stay. The standard rooms are very tight and the bathrooms are very small, with only pedestal sinks. You are basically paying for the location when you book this hotel. Staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful. Parking is expensive. You can park a few blocks up the street and in the front of the property along PCH at night if you dare. We lost a side mirror on a rental car the first night parking on PCH. Great location for walking, you don't really need a car once you're there.

The room was awesome and being so close to shopping and great dining was really nice! Went on the whale watching tour while there! Beautiful surroundings and the staff made for a great stay. Easy check-in and checkout. :)

Maybe there are truly no better options in Laguna beach. But for the price nearly $300 per night when you take into account taxes and the “resort fee” it was a disappointing stay. Our toilet did not work properly. Our room was fine but it had old carpet, old paint, and was all around run down. The hotel is more of a motel than a hotel. I thought the hotel would waive our resort fees for the toilet inconvenience. They did not.

Very good location , buy the way very crowded in their small, private beach. Standard rooms very old carpet very dirty, forests old shower small, rooms very small for the price they charging on top of it $45.00 parking fee plus tips, construction around the hotel. Overall not very pleasant experience. Not recommended, till they get reconstruction done .

I didn't like the quality of the room, and there were mosquitoes in the room. The bathroom very poor condition. I did like the fact that it was close to the beach, towels and chairs provided on beach amd service thwre was excellent.

If you want to be right at the ocean, the balcony was right there! The place is older and needs to be power washed and painted. Balcony in need of cleaning and stucco repair. Lobby is in a separate building and across the alley from our “surf” tower. No ice machine except near lobby. Dead bolt did not work. No area rug around the bed to prevent bringing sand onto the sheets.all staff pleasant and helpful. Would be nice if the facility took some money and maintained and upgraded their facilities. Oh yes, bring a phone adapter as there are no USB charging ports
